i brought my emotional support dog in and who claimed to be the assistant manager (not sure if she is or not,) politely told me i couldn't have him in there, to which i informed her he is an ESA and asked if that was okay since that is the case. she asked me if he had a vest stating such, which i did, and if i'd put it on him. i had no problem doing so, so i did go back out to the car and put my dog's vest on him and bring him back in. i went back to the subway to order and an employee with the pizza part of the store pet him. my first complaint is that nobody asked me or my partner if it was okay to pet him as i thought it was common knowledge to ask to pet someone's dog, let alone ask to pet someone's service or emotional support animal. my dog, doing what dogs do when someone is friendly with them, attempted to follow said employee and i was tugging his leash to get him back. he had never crossed the line between the pizza kitchen and the sales floor. i wasnt going to allow him to get that far. the supposed assistant manager who'd asked me to put his vest on him then raised her voice at me, saying that he couldn't be back there. i work in food service; clearly i know that and wasn't encouraging him to go there. i was trying to pull him back to me. your food and beverage employees shouldn't even be petting animals while working with food, let alone petting someone's working animal without asking the handler. it's not my responsibility what your employees do without my consent. my dog was doing what most dogs would so when someone who smells like food shows them friendly attention, and i clearly wasnt allowing it.
my mother-in-law called to complain about the encounter and the assistant manager was rude over the phone, placed all the blame on my dog and denied ever raising her voice with me.
i will not be spending any money in this business again.
if you're going to be unfriendly to service or emotional support animals, at least post a sign stating that you discourage emotional support animals from entering the store instead of raising your voice to customers.
from someone who has worked in the public consistently for more than four years, this place seems to have terrible, terrible customer service.

10-1-2020 - This Little General is a little small but is nice. There is a Subway here and a pizza place here as well that make great pizza's and subs. Prices are good but the gas in this area is a little higher here.
