We had a wonderful overnight stay! Family of 4 with two large dogs…Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was friendly, kind, and welcoming. The courtyard was well maintained, secure, and easily accessible for pets including trash and doggie bags for easy clean up! The pool area was busy but beautiful. Restaurant on site but we order Papa John’s, also great and the hotel gave us a 25% off coupon to use! Parking was easy and plentiful! We had a great experience! Highly recommend!

The pictures on the website are not what the room looked like. Was very dark and old. The room had an odor to it. The curtain was broke. There was no body wash. There was a dirty pillowcase on one of the pillows. We could hear the toilet flushing all night from the room upstairs. Was dirty. We didn't dare to eat breakfast there. Definitely not worth the price. Glad I didn't book it for 2 nights. Never again. And told the receptionist when we left about everything when she asked how our stay was and she didn't offer any accommodations whatsoever. Horrible experience! Do better. We have stayed at many hotels and this was THE WORST!

OMG, has anyone told you how excellent your staff is? From the time you enter the door until you leave, they treat you like you are the most important guest they have.

She even let one of our staff talk to the cook about the Lemon Cake, they were so kind and gracious that they placed an order for the cakes and the staff let her buy one. How amazing are these people? So when I say they go out of their way, I mean they go out of their way to treat people special. Erma is always friendly and encouraging, Jodi is out of this world great, and Marissa is so amazing, she is working nights and putting herself through college but still finds the strength to be amazing.

Mel is amazing, I can't explain how kind they are. Please take care of these wonderful people, because they take great care of your guest

I used reward points and cash to book the room. The reservation assistant assisted in booking the room and mentioned that a complimentary breakfast was included with my reservation. I thought the 29000 points plus $69 cash was high but I justified the cost knowing that breakfast was included.

I went to the breakfast area at 630 am only to be told that breakfast was not included. I checked with the front desk and mentioned that when I booked the room I understood that all amenities were included with my reward stay.

The front desk said that it was not included and breakfast including tax was $15 w/tax for each occupant of my stay.

I went ahead and reluctantly agreed to the breakfast buffet charges. The scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes were cold, they ran out of coffee and I had to wait 10 minutes before more coffee was set out. I was also informed that my platinum elite status was downgraded to "gold" and that only platinum elite get complimentary breakfast.

I was OK with the downgrade bc I have not traveled as much with my business even though I spent several years as a Platinum elite member but when I had to pay $15 per meal for a cold breakfast and long wait for coffee I was very disappointed with my stay. Especially when they ran out of hot coffee between 6:30 and 7:00 am when they only opened at 6 am I was very taken back by the, less than acceptable, breakfast buffet.

HIX has always been my first choice for business travel and this was rare that my experience with the Charleston West was very below what I have experienced with my loyalty to staying at a Holiday Inn Express.

I am curious to know how I was downgraded from Platinum to Gold and what do I need to do to get reinstated back to Platinum.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the pool with the kiddie shallow area for my toddler to play around. It even had some fancy water features and a hot tub. Rooms were a little dated, but seemed clean. My only complaint was that the beds were way too soft, making it really uncomfortable to sleep on them with my husband.

Very nice hotel, friendly front desk staff. They greeted us and introduced themselves and stated they would be there all evening if we had any issues or questions. The hotel lobby and lobby restrooms were very clean. Hallways and elevator were also clean. Our room was clean, no issues, everything worked. Friday evening, our Uber canceled when we were at the Civic Center, we called the hotel, are so thankful the shuttle driver found us and got us back to the hotel safely. Excellent staff, clean hotel, would stay here again!

Our stay here was great! Everyone was super nice and willing to help. The pool area was super nice and convenient! I will definitely be returning. My kids loved the pool area. It was kept clean. The rooms were great. The bed was super comfortable and the bathrooms were nice and clean!
