Snowshoe Mountain Resort has the best skiing you will find in the Eastern United States. You will find terrain for every level of skiing. From the ski school beginners to the double black diamond enthusiasts to the terrain park adventurers, you can find your place.
The Mountain Top offers great lodging, amazing dining experiences, fun taverns, an indoor/outdoor pool, and a hot tub, entertainment venues with comedy shows, and live bands. As well, you can park your vehicles and get to anything on the Mountain via free shuttles.
There is certainly something for everyone.

Showshoe was amazing. I stayed at one of the ski in & out hotels (Corduroy Inn & Lodge) and it was worth it. The village is lovely and all personnel at the resort were incredibly helpful. I parked at the expedition rental station and had access to everything I needed. The snowboarding instructors Jilly & Matt Dease were awesome!

It's absolutely an amazing place to go skiing or snowboarding. There are plenty of accommodations, plenty of places to eat, and so much fun to be had. There is a little general store on the mountain that has a good selection, but the prices are higher. There is no gas on the mountain, but there is some at the bottom at pow mar. Weather can change at any moment, so be prepared. 13 lifts and 61 trails. Most slopes are groomed to perfection, but some are left to be natural for those who like to go off the beaten trail. There are little huts along the slopes where you can get food and drinks. It also has a ski school for beginners. The best times are January and February.

Last minute spring skiing! It was wonderful. Friendly staff, yummy eateries, good rental gear, and gorgeous surroundings. A fun little spot for an easy-access east coast outdoor activity. We can't wait to visit again for mountain biking.

Study a map before you go if your first time there.
They have shuttles. One stays in the main area and a separate one goes to Silver Creek which is about a 10 minute drive from the main ski area. Silver Creek did not open until noon when I was there.
Free parking in parking lot A by Top of the mountain except Fri-Sun. Then it's $10.
No cell service on the mountain except in lodging areas and restaurants using their wi-fi. Best to print a map vs relying on GPS to get home. Leaving resort there is no cell service for about 45 minutes with T mobile and Verizon.
For a ski resort the prices are better than most ski resorts I've been to. No waiting in lift lines Wednesday and Thursday. One lift was inoperable and the next day it worked but a different lift was inoperable. I've read that they often have inoperable lifts.
Ski runs are super fun. Snow was great when I went.
Beginners may want to start at Silver Creek. Main mountain beginner runs take them through narrow areas where they can go off trail and down a steep section of mountain. Silver Creek black diamond runs are more intermediate runs IMO.
Staff were all really nice and down to earth. My friend and I had a great experience at Snowshoe and will be going again.

Great Ski resort! It is the best place we have skied in West Virginia and surrounding area. The mountain is inverted so you ski down then lift up, not lift up and ski down. We have stayed in three different properties, the last one was top of the World, our new favorite. All the rooms are a little worn and not Hilton clean, more like motel 6, but the skiing is fabulous. Food is reasonable and prices aren't jacked up. We have taken ski lessons and always got our money's worth. This time we had Rob, he was awesome and gave us what we needed then told us what to do after we got to that point. He gave our kids so much confidence, it was great! People are so nice and helpful, just ask anyone and they will help you out. Love this place, rooms just a little run down and dirty.

Best snow in the mid Atlantic! I renew my ikon every year so I can trek thru the beautiful roads to get some fresh powder most years! Typical upside down resort but the lines are usually short and the WV road crews maintain the roads in fantastic. Good watering hole and food options, including a few mid mountain spots. Can’t recommend enough I am always trying to get friends to come up the mountain, enjoy the views and get some runs in!

Jan 2025 - I got invited with a group of friends that go every year. This was my first time coming here. The scenery is beautiful. The people are nice but a lot were very entitled. Some didn't seem to know how to handle their alcohol at night either. The shuttles were a nightmare. They should really get someone to regulate the bus stops. People cutting who just got there and fights almost happening over it. Felt bad for the drivers considering they were short staffed and someone quit. I waited an hour which gave me such bad anxiety. They also packed the bus so much that people were standing on the stairs, which I get why but was just crazy. The driver was great but also gave me more anxiety with how packed it was. He also could barely see out of the windshield. It was an interesting ride back and thankful we made it safely. Tubbing and the hot tub was my favorite thing to do. The information booths were really helpful and nice. I only did the skidder and didn't even attempt the slopes due to the fog/snow we had all weekend. I wasn't familiar and didn't feel comfortable going down not being able to see the signs. It was also super packed, we went on a holiday weekend. My friends go ever year and seem to really enjoy it but I just felt eh about the whole thing. The disorganization and people didn't sit right with me. I will say the staff was great, tubbing is a must try, and soaking in the hot tub at night felt great. I wouldn't mind trying another year but for the price we paid I didn't feel satisfied. Tubbing was a good price though.
