Our stay at Cantrell was awesome!! The cabin on the hill is the great place to host a big group and the cabins at the campground have everything you need. And the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. ||We had an awesome time on the lower gauley with Scooty. We had a lot of first time rafters and he handled it perfectly. He was a great time and definitely how to navigate the rapids.

Fantastic rafting experience for the second time with Cantrell's! My family of four had a terrific experience on the Upper Gauley with Devin & Sam. This was the most exciting and challenging experiences I've had rafting anywhere in the country. Once we past the final class five rapid we pulled the raft atop a boulder and enjoyed lunch while watching other crews attempt (& fail) to clear the same rapids that we dominated; it pays off having more experienced guides.

The guides were thorough with the safety instructions and expectations, easing the minds of our less experienced family members.

The on site pub has live outdoor music, friendly staff, quality local beer, and a great family friendly feel. The cabin was clean and comfortable.

I look forward to booking another trip with Cantrell's next year and make more lasting memories!

Such a fun trip and I’m so glad we picked a smaller local family owned company for our rafting adventure! Terry was our raft guide and he was really entertaining and had tons of knowledge about the River and surrounding area. We had an absolute blast. Highly recommend Cantrell - pricing is great and they have very knowledgeable guides. Trent was the other guide he was friendly and fun too! Would absolutely come back and do another trip with either of them!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Brandy, the Manager on site gave me extraordinary customer service. I came in for Bridge Day this October 2024 and camped at one of Cantrells sites. They have a Bar/restaurant, very nice stage that hosted live music, a fire pit for guests, clean bathrooms/showers, and free breakfast and coffee! Not only did I truly love staying there, Brandy bent over backwards to help me enjoy my experience by giving me thorough directions, useful information, recommendations and she even called a local friend and helped me get parking for bridge day! I highly recommend staying at Cantrells for an amazing experience in New River Gorge!

Had an amazing first time rafting the Lower Gauley rapids and a great stay with Cantrell. Everyone there was super friendly and chill while still showing us a hell of a good time. Our guide Scooty's passion for rafting and the region especially showed through. He knows not only the rapids but also how to handle a group of first-timers really well.||Top of the Hill Cabin was a lovely getaway with every amenity. Just note that you might not be able to take your car up the driveway without 4WD -- it's fine if not though, it's just a minute or two walk up from the main lot.||Solid 10/10 experience and always happy to support a small family-owned business. Can't wait to come back and hit the Upper Gauley!

We had a fantastic morning with Cantrell's. They were so friendly and welcoming! They had everything we needed for a safe rafting trip. Our guide, randy, was funny and informative. The bus trip to the put in was quick and scenic so we had lots of time on the river. We did the express trip which let us see the whole river section and still have time to do lots of other things in the afternoon! It was ideal for us since we were packing a lot into a couple days. Everything was easy, clean, safe and fun! Will happily return for more rafting!

Great family run business. We rafted with Cantrell Rafting 3 years ago and again this year. The guides are very experienced, unlike the big companies. You also get breakfast before the trip, good lunch , refreshments on bus ride back. The New and Gaulle rivers won't disappoint. Great experience!

Highly recommend for your white water rafting trip! Local, small, family owned company and everyone was super nice, knowledgeable, great guides and staff. We did the 1/2 day trip with Garrett and he was awesome- super friendly and engaging throughout the trip. When we come back, we are booking with Cantrell!
