Overall I would stay here again. The rooms need updating and bigger TV's but you get what you pay for. We were just wanting a place to sleep after a long day of travel and football (Go Dukes!). The front desk guy was very nice letting us in before check-in. The room was clean and I felt like it was a safe location.

There weren't a lot of cars in the parking lot so I figured we would be in for a quiet night however I was mistaken. For several hours during the night people were carrying on in the parking lot and it seems the office couldn't hear it. We did see some deer along the driveway which was cool. Bed was relatively comfortable. Hotel was clean, breakfast was about what you'd expect although they had propaganda on the TV which I'm not a fan of. I'd prefer something more neutral so everyone is accommodated instead of a fringe minority. The pool looked awesome although I didn't bring a suite. I would probably stay again although my better half probably wouldn't. She's a much lighter sleeper than I am.

This was a pretty good place as far as Super 8s go. The breakfast was much better than expected, especially with the biscuits and gravy. I would recommend avoiding the smoking half of the building if you are not staying on that side. We also turned on the TV just to find out only the audio worked, so there was no picture on the screen.

The single king bed bed was okay. But the shower leaked and there's only a decorative curtain. No mini fridge like I had hoped. Then the next stay, we were given a handicapped room that had a mini fridge but the shower flooded the bathroom and soaked my clean clothes on the towel rack across the bathroom. Flood clear out to the carpet in the room.

Dirty rooms smelled like a mixture of weed and cigarette smoke... we raised the fabric from around the beds and there was tons of old food left by previous guest. We found chips of different assortments different kinds of cereal and random stuff on the walls. Would not recommend. And no I didn't bother complaining to the people working there. They just work at the place it's the owners responsibility to make sure the place is up to par. But it was definitely sub par even for a Super 8.

I would stay here again, with a few issues that NEED to be changed. Aside from the room issues, the place as a whole was clean, the elevator worked with no issues, noises or graffiti. Water pressure was good, and hot water was hot. The A/C worked well.
The room left much to be desired. When we got there, we found a used washcloth left in the shower. The bed sheets were not changed (or at least seemed to have been used, hair was found around the pillows, I am bald and do not have brunette/black hair). Its almost as if the people in the room prior cleaned up, and the room was never actually turned over.
They still use the old card system that gets erased if it gets too close to a phone or a magnet (like a wallet, etc...), or someone else's. we had to get our cards re-set several times.
There was a scorched outlet in the bathroom - which doesn't give a boost of confidence.
The driveway could use a more lights as there is a 180-degree hairpin turn at the top of the hill and it is completely dark at night.

Don't got me wrong, it's not a bad place, you could definitely do worse if staying in Huntington, but this Super 8 still left a lot to be desired. The things I liked was the view of the area on top of the hill, had smoking rooms available, and had a pool and hot tub. The hot tub was super hot, but the jets did not work, and the pool was visibly dirty on the bottom, sand and lots of leaves/dirt/debris, which is kind of weird for an indoor pool, but whatever. The carpet in the guest room was filled with stains, and a lot of stuff seemed older and outdated. Also, please note, unlike any hotel I've ever stayed at before, CHECKOUT IS 10 AM. NOT 11 AM, but 10 AM!! A little ridiculous if you ask me, but I'm guessing that's probably due to being short staffed, so I can't really hold the early check out time against super 8, but it's just something to consider if you're like me and like to sleep in. The room costs over $100 a night after tax, and it didn't even come with a microwave, so it's a little pricier for a Super 8, and not really worth it to be honest.
