The food was fine. It’s a very interesting place to see inside. You got to experience it at least once.

The whole experience here was great. The staff are very friendly. The food was very great, I had a piece of cheesecake and it was very delicious.

The atmosphere is also very nice with the old time diner feel.

If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely return and try the HeMan challenge.

This is my first time here as I was told by countless of people to come here. Poky Dot’s has been known for being one of WV’s top diners across social media blogs, food network, and various online sources. The interior of this place is very decorative and vibrant. However, the so called homemade ice cream was actually store bought. Another downside of this establishment is that they only take cash. I’m glad I tried it, but most of the establishments that have been recognized on a national scale aren’t that good.

I was excited to stop here because I had not been to The Poky Dot in many many years. I wanted to take my two grandkids and my fiancé to a place I had many fond memories of. To begin with, we only stopped to get ice cream because we were not hungry. When we told our waitress ( whom I assume was the owner/boss) that we only wanted ice cream, she grumbled and stated “you don’t want any food” like you cant order just ice cream? She made it obvious that she was upset we were only ordering ice cream and no food. We ordered 3 milkshakes. Not the great big huge specialty milkshakes, just the average old fashioned milkshakes. An hour later we still had not received our milkshakes and I think she could tell that we were becoming a little upset because she made a statement very loud so that we could hear her, that if we wanted our order fast, then we needed to go to Dairy Queen. This lady was very loud and bossy and obnoxious to all of her staff. I am surprised anyone works for her. The entire time we were there all we could hear was her obnoxious mouth telling everyone what to do. I will admit the milkshakes were good, but not worth over an hour wait for. I’ll go to Dairy Queen next time like she suggested that we do.

My Father came to visit so Dad, my boy and I decided to try this eye appealing building. Good parking, no complaints. Our poor waitress, juggling the whole place herself it seemed, had to run across the street to get change, bless her heart.

My husband and I did an impromptu mini vacay yesterday. We traveled from Charles Town, WV to check out Fairmont, WV and decided to stop here and eat. It is a VERY cute fun little place. The people were really nice and the food was very good. Big portions. Although, we didn't get to try their sundaes or milkshakes. They looked very good and very well made. We will definitely have to bring the kids and do an overnight stay or something. I highly recommend it.

Came in with a group, waited nearly an hour to have our order taken. Dishes looked unclean, food was decent, but very overpriced. I got a buffalo chicken wrap for 13 dollars, which is already a hefty price. Got taxed 20% for large party while still billing individually, basically forced to tip, very clever on their part. Ended up being $16.50 for some fries and buffalo chicken, lettuce, and tomato wrapped in a tortilla.

Great place to go if you have some free time, I guess
