When we pulled up to the property, our breath was taken away. It was evening, and snow covered the ground. It truly was magical outside! The stars were so clear and bright shining over the barn. The library is next level with lots of unique collections on display all around the room. The staff was so friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. The room decorations are unique but the heater was very loud when it kicked on and the beds weren't real comfortable. However, the whole experience was so wonderful that it was easy to overlook that inconvience.

The aspects listed in prior review are accurate so I will not go into great detail about those. It’s a decent clean place to stay if you like the B&B cutesy trinkets everywhere feel. |Included breakfast was nice, views beautiful. |No wifi and no cell service for miles around |The thing to be aware of is that Inn is actually the Mountain Quest Institute and Research Center |There are books in your room to teach you to “unleash your mind” and finding the light and energy. There are numerous pamphlets in the dining hall and pictures on the wall of “the myst”. The library is largely focused on meta physics and the paranormal. |You can find their website and they talk about the founder being physicist interested in organizational frameworks but at the hear of it is a lot of pseudoscientific terms and “spirituality” about finding the myst and the energy and other things.||There was a strange woman outside on our second night and the next morning there talking to no one about the color of our eyes - she seemed to be on drugs perhaps ||Our stay there was not otherwise affected by this but you should know where it is you’re going if you choose to stay here. I will not expose myself to this again.

The inn was wonderful, the folks that run it were very friendly and the onsite animals are absolutely amazing and they made the trip for me. It’s definitely out there in distance, there is no service or WiFi (they have a plug in for computer however) but they provide an unlimited amount of things to do inside the main part of the hotel. A library that rivals the local one most likely, a game room with every physical game possible in the US, and a DVD collection to rival a blockbuster. Was greeted this morning on the porch by the “manager” who made my stay entirely 10x better.

Beautiful and peaceful area. The house is on a farm with horses, donkeys, miniature horses, chickens and cats. It is very relaxing with a spectacular view of the mountains. The house has a 2 story library with an amazing collection of books. There is a game room with a wall full of DVD's and board games. There is a pool table and arcade machines to keep the kids busy since there is no cell phone service or Wifi in this area. The house does provide cables to connect internet to a laptop but we didn't even bother. The rooms are each designed with a different theme, ours was innovation. We had plenty of room for a family of 4. I practically enjoyed the heated massage chair.

Breakfast was served in the dining area from 8-10am which consisted of coffee, orange juice, little boxes of cereal, hard boiled eggs, croissants and a variety of breads.

We were doing the Christmas train ride in Cass so the location was great. There is one restaurant about 3 minutes from the house. Other than that, the closest restaurants / stores are roughly a 20 minute drive.

We enjoyed the stay and staff was extremely helpful especially Alex. We are already planning a trip back next year.

The Inn was beautiful. We had a one night stay and it was such a good experience. The grounds are so pretty. We hope to go back in the spring or summer to explore the grounds. |There is no cell or internet service but that is part of its charm. The playroom had hundreds of DVDs to watch in your room. We played checkers for a long time and there were games for the kids to enjoy. |Can't wait to explore more of this beautiful mountain retreat.

We stubbled upon this amazing hidden gem when looking for a place to stay to ride bikes on the Greenbrier River Trail. We were instantly greeted and fed the miniature horses carrots and heard some history about the inn and the owners. The views of the farm and the land when we pulled up were absolutely beautiful! We stayed in the aviation room and it was wonderful, each room is unique with a different theme and is decorated with items the owner has collected over the years. There was no wi-fi which we loved, we enjoyed the animals and walking around the well kept property. The library was incredible featuring thousands of books from the owners private collection! We loved it here and plan to come back this fall. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay and unwind! Side note: Dean's Den just 1/2 mile down the road has amazing breakfast!

We wanted a location near the Green Bank Observatory, and needed it to be dog friendly. The Mountain Quest Inn ticked all the boxes. Our room was colorful and comfortable and it is a working farm, so plenty of areas to walk the dog around the houses and along the creek. Knowing we were in the National Radio Quiet Zone, we were fully prepared to be "off the grid" while staying there. The Inn has a 14,000 book library and thousands of DVDs as well so we had plenty of entertainment. The breakfasts at Dean's Den were amazing, cooked to order, and we also went there for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. Would definitely go back.

This is so interesting historical authentic place!
Stuff is so friendly. Rooms are clean.
They have big library, a pool table, library of DVDs and so many other interesting artifacts. It's almost like a museum.
Definitely recommend.
