This place really goes all out. We bought the food package for the weekend and it was worth every penny came with steaks, baked potatoes, veggies, breakfast food, and a picnic basket full of stuff to go spend the day in the woods with your family or significant other. Plus other details that might not seem so obvious like milk, butter, and the things you actually need to prep the meals.

Staff were very friendly and the location is very peaceful and clean. Definitely will return!

Words cannot describe the spectacular time my wife and I experienced at Country Road Cabins. From the ease of registration to the champagne and glasses left in the refrigerator, our weekend getaway started. The amazing staff and well built cabins are top of the line. I can’t think of one thing I would add or take away from Country Road Cabin. |The wonderful memories will last forever. Great job!

During our March 2025 family trip to New River Gorge National Park, we wanted a classic, cozy cabin close to the action, and Country Road Cabins delivered. We stayed in the Black Bear Cabin, and it was everything we hoped for. ||The cabin’s location was ideal: less than 10 minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge, tucked away at the end of a private gravel road, and surrounded by over an acre of rolling mountain meadow (which was ideal for tossing a football with my son). The cabin itself boasts a well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances, a 50" smart TV for our movie nights, a stackable washer and dryer, a wrap-around porch for coffee while watching the fog lift, and even a hot tub to soak away the day’s adventures. ||The cabin had three comfortably furnished bedrooms, featuring a luxurious king in the master with an en suite bath, plus a queen and twin beds in the other rooms, the cabin comfortably accommodated our family. We also enjoyed the rustic charm of the gas fireplace and the modern yet cozy furniture throughout. When we encountered one maintenance issue, the service staff was very responsive and resolved it quickly, keeping our vacation uninterrupted. ||The cabin’s central location made it easy to explore other local attractions like Pie's & Pints, the Escape-A-Torium, the Bridge Walk, and plenty of nearby hikes. We left with lasting memories and a promise to return soon. Country Road Cabins will definitely be our go-to spot on our next visit to the area!

I just had the most magical winter week at Country Road Cabins! My cabin had a cozy fire in the fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen, a hot tub on a covered deck, plus I was close to fabulous attractions like the famous Bridge Walk under the New River Gorge bridge! I attended a dinner with live comedy at nearby Smokey’s Grill. The Long Point Trail had breathtaking-taking views and was worth the walk. It snowed for two of the days and the surrounding countryside was so pretty. A wild ride in a side-by-side completed my action packed week. I can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in the Iron Ring for a long weekend in November and really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfy. We brought our dogs and were ecstatic that some of the cabins are pet-friendly (including Iron Ring). We didn't really see anyone the whole trip, which we loved. The hot tub was a nice bonus to relax and have a beer after hiking all day. We're hoping to return in the summer with my parents.

Stayed here in hopes to experience the beautiful West Virginia snow in the Appalachian cabin with my husband and 1.5 year old. The location is a gorgeous winter wonderland. But the cabin was quite a disappointment.

The biggest thing I would like to state first is that I would not go to these cabins in winter if you do not have a 4 wheel drive that can handle a big icy hill. They seem to be unable to have equipment ready to maintain their roads and you will end up stuck. My husband had to shovel patches of ice and snow for 3 hours to get our telluride back up to the top and we had to hike back and forth to our cabin for the rest of the trip. We wished we knew ahead of time that they couldn’t plow the road. This storm has been talked about in the weather for At least a week and past places we have visited have always responsibly maintained their roads. They did at some point call a plow company but at that point it was too late the thick ice had formed and the plow company refused to plow for fear of making it worse.

The cabin was full of mice. The second night while we were watching a movie you could hear them skittering around and when I picked up my bags off the counters they jumped out. we had to lock up all of our food in coolers. They had mousetraps in a lot of cabinets and closets which we had to hide from our toddler. Every morning all the tables, sinks and counters were covered in mouse poop and the bedrooms had mouse poop in the corners. I had to rewash my daughter’s sippy cups and dishes because I was disgusted.

The stuff in the cabin is god awful. The couch we sat on was sinking in, the dining table leg broke off randomly, the bed was pure cheap lumpy springs (we barely slept because of this), all the nonstick pans were peeling (stainless would be much more efficient for cabins). The grill was so hard to use and blew up on us trying to get it to work. The igniter was broken and we had to use a lighter.

Good things: they provided shovels and salt, the hot tub was pretty cool esp with the snow, gas stove worked fine, our cabin had simple seasonings and utensils. Heat worked great in the cabin and we were never cold indoors despite the 10 degree weather. we requested a high chair for my daughter and they were able to provide a decent one that worked great.

Sadly. I will not be recommending country road cabins to anyone wanting to visit the gorgeous new river gorge area. We will be coming back in the summer but definitely not to these cabins.
