Have been there twice now, the food was great, the service was good, and atmosphere was very relaxing.
11/26/2024 update they change their fries from twists to wedges, the ribeye steak was so thin, tough, and had no flavor. The past two times we ate there, they honored a military discount. This time, they said they never had it... a new business should be consistent. Probably won't be back anytime soon.

Good food, great service and a nice atmosphere on the east side! It has a hint of fine dining with a laid back atmosphere. Plenty of options on the menu including a kids menu. Everything is reasonably priced. Serves alcohol and also has a bar area. Spacious and nicely decorated. Ample parking in a parking lot to the side of the building

Atmosphere- 3 stars- located in the basement of a former church this restaurant is a large open space (rectangle shaped) with table and booths. It definitely has a basement feel and was kinda chilly. In the back there is a separate room with a full bar which is very nice actually- this was the nicest part of the establishment. The bar area has tables and some comfy seating areas in the form of a sofa and chairs. Two televisions were behind the bar and at the time I was there was playing a video of a nice fireplace fire which was nice on a cold winter day.

Service- 4 Stars- Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He did a great job.

Food- 4 stars- I wasn’t sure what to expect when coming here to eat but the last thing I was expecting was Mexican food. The menu is a mix of American style appetizers, salads, sandwiches and handhelds however the entree menu consist primarily of Mexican cuisine which was fine by me. We started our meal with the daily appetizer special which was Arancini (rice balls) with peas and mozzarella. They were good but basically fried mozzarella balls. For my main course I had the Chicken Street Tacos with a side and of Mexican Rice. Tacos were very good. You get an options of either a green or red dipping sauce. I went with the red because it was spicy and I promise it was spicy. 🌶️ we also got the lunch sized Chicken Fajitas with Rice and Beans. The chicken was good but there wasn’t enough chicken but a lot of onions and peppers which were also good (really had a ground pepper flavor). All in all it was a good meal and I would come here again to try something else.

Go here!!!! We have eaten here twice now. The food is delicious. The staff are very attentive. The price is perfect. And the food is always brought out quickly. This is a new restaurant we intend to visit quite often.

Ordered lunch takeout. Jumbo beef burrito and fajita nachos. Super tasty. We were very excited to try this new restaurant in the area. And they killed it. Someone knows how to cook. Prices are great and food is very flavorful and fresh. We will be dining in for dinner soon.

I had Onyx Restaurant for the first time, today, and both the food and service were excellent. Everything was freshly cooked and very flavorful. The restaurant was very nice inside, it was very clean, and there was plenty of parking in the lot behind it. I would definitely recommend this place and will certainly be going back.

Really cool place. It’s under the old church. Looks really nice inside. Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was fantastic. We were in and out in less than 45 mins with very full and very happy bellies!!!

We visit family a couple times a year here in fairmont and will be sure to stop in each and every time!!!

I'm so excited to have a new sit down restaurant on East side 🙂

We had the Onyx, brushetta, and a burger. I'm not a fan of bringing out food one at a time with waiting in-between. But, it wasn't a terribly long wait.

We will be back!
