JUST what we needed. Quiet. Clean. Stunning views, peaceful walks, deer grazing on the hills, turkey scuttling across the walking path. We landed here on a hot week and the crystal clear little pool in the courtyard was refreshing each afternoon. The owning couple maintained a lovely balance of being hospitable and gracious hosts, yet also affording us our privacy. Perfect and appreciated. We chose the self-contained room that has its own kitchen - the room was expansive with many windows so plenty of breathing space but was also our private cocoon. The communal areas such as their living room and kitchen were welcoming. We traveled here from a nearby state and it was well worth the drive.

Arrived at a beautiful log home secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. The owner, Walter greeted us at the door showed us around. Walter was also very knowledgeable about local history and attractions that we might visit while we were in town. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The banquet hall next to the in-ground pool and hot tub is beautiful inside and compliments the property very well. I would recommend this place to anyone who is having a large family reunion, wedding or corporate event.

Ever drive through the mountains and see that big home tucked into the hills and wonder what it would be like to have a place like that? This is your chance! When we arrived at the Inn we were greeted in the driveway by the owner, Walter. He gave us a tour of this beautiful log home as well as the amazing history of how this place came to be. Walter is a great host, he makes sure you have everything you need and respects your privacy as well. We stayed in the bonus room which includes a kitchen, sleeping for more than 8 if needed with a private entrance, a game room with a full size pool table, large screen television. There is an outdoor pool and hot tub, it was a little cool for the pool. The location is 10 minutes from the highway, and minutes from local townships, tourist attractions, gas, food and of course there is a Walmart. The Relax Inn is set on 350 acres, with multiple ponds for fishing (caught over 15 fish including a couple large mouth bass), hiking, deer galore, turkeys and other native wildlife can be seen all over the property. The name of the place says it all, this is a place to come, relax and getaway from whatever, and just enjoy yourself surrounded by the mountains and a host to make sure you do! Tks Walter!

While driving back home from a 7 week cross-country trip, we stumbled on this gold nugget. Way off the beaten path, nestled on 350 acres of land, stands this beautiful log home. The setting was picture perfect, from our bedroom which overlooked a pond, to deer on the hills. The owner, Mr. Stalnaker, gave us a tour of the entire house and yard, and we were delighted with everything from the porch to the jacuzzi. An abundant breakfast was served exactly when we requested. We highly recommend the Relax Inn and Getaway. It was the perfect ending to our trip!

We love this place and have visited twice because the property is so unique, the house is a marvel, and Walter, the owner, makes you feel right at home. The area has a lot to offer, but the fun is the property and the peace and quiet it offers. The scenic room is just that, with an incredible view of the property and the pond and hills, especially on a moonlit night. We liked it for the privacy, but it would also be great for a family or group of friends who can use the large room.

My wife and I arrived at what we expected to be (based on the owner's description and pictures on his website) a cozy little gem in the country. Upon arrival the outside is exactly as pictured and the grounds were well maintained. As we entered the house our expectations were quickly deflated. The first thing we saw as we entered was an open kitchen area with a large window that provided a view into the attached garage full of cluttered engine parts, tools, a motorcycle, etc. As we explored the house waiting for the owner to arrive, we noticed that the rooms on the lower floor were similarly cluttered with the owner's personal belongings, including some type of engine or machine part on the living room table. The kitchen floor was dirty and had food crumbs on it along with dirty dishes in the sink. We felt like we had just walked into someone's home who wasn't expecting company.||||We then went to our room which had been used the previous night by our friends (who had rented the entire property for their family's use during their daughter's wedding). Our room had not yet been remade, which wasn't a big deal, and we assumed that it would be taken care of while we were at the wedding. We changed clothes for our evening plans, went back downstairs and continued to look around the place in utter disbelief and disappointment. At some point the owner returned, and without introducing himself, sat down and listened to our conversation until I noticed him and introduced ourselves. We let him know that we would be coming back that evening and asked to have the room remade. He seemed surprised at our request and stated that our friends only stayed in the room one night. He agreed to change the sheets and give us clean towels, but only if an additional $25 fee was paid for what was clearly an unwelcome inconvenience.||||So, I put a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator that we were going to make mimosas with in the morning and we left for the wedding. When we arrived at the wedding we discussed the B&B with our friends who were similarly disappointed. They shared with us that their breakfast that morning consisted of dry cereal, stale pastries and a meager spoonful of scrambled eggs. Further, several of the young ladies serving as bridesmaids told us that the owner was unnecessarily obtrusive toward them when they were in the pool and hot tub the evening before.||||We left the wedding and returned to the B&B. We packed our suitcase and were headed for the door when the owner sneaked up behind us and wanted to know where we were going. Not wanting to offend him we explained that my wife was having stomach issues and that we had decided to return home that evening. He became visibly agitated and insinuated that he expected us to pay him for changing the sheets and putting out fresh towels.....We didn't. We said a quick good bye and left.||||The next day we called our friends and asked them to take the bottle of champagne that we forgot about in the refrigerator with them when they left. They were at the B&B when we called so they immediately went to the refrigerator to retrieve the champagne only to find that it was gone....The next day they also shared with us that the owner actually told their son to move from the head of the table at breakfast whereupon he actually sat down and ate his breakfast with them, a breakfast that we were told was equally as bad as the one from the day before.||||When they checked out the owner charged them not $25 for remaking the bed and putting out clean towels, but $30, and further charged them more for the weekend than the rate they booked at.||||My advice is to avoid this place at all costs!

Our host gave us an interesting tour and we learned a little of the history of the property. He did accept us for a one night's stay, but we were charged an extra $25, plus the taxes, so a $125 room turned into a $168 room which we weren't expecting! Be sure you know up front what your charges will be. We paid with a check, but he also charges extra to use a credit card. The facility is indeed lovely, inside.and outside.
