We stayed here only one night. It's a lovely old home. Peggy has put a lot of work into maintaining its historical flavor while upgrading where she can. We enjoyed wandering around the house and seeing all the different rooms, and they are really all nice. The shower in the Vineyard Room was really pleasant. The location really is great, walking distance to town in a quiet setting across from the city park. It was great sitting out on the porch in the evening. The breakfast was very nice. We spent a lot of time talking to Peggy, and she has a lot of wonderful stories to share. If we are in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We spent 2 nights at Warfield House at the peak of the fall leaf season. The setting is idyllic across from a large park and Davis & Elkin College. We had our bikes and could easily explore the town and enjoyed a nice day's ride on the Appalachian Highland Trail. We stayed in the Lavender Room which is beautifully decorated and very spacious. The ensuite bathroom is also very large. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and we slept very well. Breakfast was blueberry pancakes, sausage and fruit one day and quiche, toast, bacon and fruit the next. All very delicious. Enjoyed sharing stories with Peggy. Only complaint is that the room was not made up for the second day.

Lovely turn of the century B&B overlooking the city park and convenient to most of downtown Elkins. Peggy was very accommodating and enjoyed showing us around the house and garden in addition to preparing a wonderful waffle, bacon and fruit breakfast. Very scenic area with lots of railroad, coal and lumber aspects, next time we will spend more than one night to ride the railroad and visit more of Elkins historic sites. Highly recommend the B&B, it's packed with artifacts and literature from local sources and Peggy's collecting of antiques. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing if only it hadn't been so short. Great front porch for relaxing.

We visited the Warfield House for a mid week get a way. I loved the architecture of this old house. The woodwork through out is quite charming. Our hostess Peggy was very hospitable and knowledgable about the area. The pancakes were very good. The fare is on the lighter side. For country folks like us we found the location a bit noisy, nothing earplugs couldn't fix. Overall a nice place to stay.

My husband & I had a wonderful evening at this B&B & the owner was just lovely. She has an amazing home & great knowledge of the area. She made is Waffles, Bacon, Scrambled eggs & Organic Coffee she had imported. All her guests ate together around a beautifully set table the next morning she set with older china, how nice this was to have met some of the other guests in the house that were traveling also from other areas & hear of there memories.||We had rented the 3rd. floor room at the very top of the house with a Queen bed (Air Conditioned) & we had our own bathroom being the only one on this floor. The Clawfoot tub was so beautiful & matched her Victorian decor so well. I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a place to stay & just a different from a Hotel any day!

This bed and breakfast was beside an attractive park in a quiet area and was within walking distance of all of downtown Elkins. Peggy told us a little about the history of the house, which I find interesting. She isn't very chatty unless you ask for info. We enjoyed sitting on the big porch and looking at the park. Wonderful bedrooms and spacious, luxurious bathrooms. Ours (the Lavender room) included a whirlpool tub and a shower, too! Nice breakfasts, although a little sparse for my appetite. Although the downstairs living areas were full of interesting relics, they smelled a bit moldy so I couldn't spend much time there--Not good for allergies. Lots of things to do in town. We rode the Tygart Flyer, went to the American Mountain Theater, and ate at the 1863 Tavern.

This B&B is in a large wonderful old house in a great location, across the street from a beautiful city park and next to the college. The host is warm and friendly and works hard to keep her guest happy. Our room was clean and decorated with period furniture. The breakfasts were good and cooked fresh. The host took special dietary requests. We loved the large porch with the rockingchairs. We recommend this place as a great alternative to the hotels in the area!

This was the best experience! It was my first B&B stay and I loved it. I love the friendly atmosphere, the interesting conversation around the table and the house was beautiful. Listed on the national register of historical places its needless to say architecturally amazing! Of the four unique rooms offered to stay in we choose the Lavender Room. It was so nice. Furnished with period furniture it still had the modern conveniences such as sleep number mattresses, air units and our room had a 2 person jacuzzi tub underneath a beautiful wall mural and separate shower in the most pretty bathroom ever. The Owner of the house Ms.Peggy was so nice and accommodating, asking about special diet requests and likes and dislikes at far as breakfast foods. She was such a cook too! Fresh ingredients made our breakfasts scrumptious. Crustless quiche, fresh fruit, sausage toast Coffee&Tea one morning and Apple Ginger Pancakes, warm surup fruit and bacon for another. Peggy was very gracious and offered us use of the downstairs room if needed and encouraged us to tour the public parts of the house and take pictures if we wanted. She was full of information about the house, the area and a bunch of other things that kept conversation interesting. There arent TVs in any of the rooms or in the house at all but they were not at all missed. Wifi is offered however. The porch swing and comfy chairs were relaxing and were perfect for early morning coffee or late afternoon tea(shes got a plethora of teas set out for guest use!) We had use of a microwave, mini fridge and other random utensils(glasses, wine opener, ect)if we needed. All in all I would recommend The Warfield House for a warm inviting alternative to the hotels in the area. I will certainly be returning! It was the best stay I've had away from home ever.
