This was my first experience with a bed and breakfast and I couldn’t have asked for a better one! The room was so cute and ready for our arrival. Kathleen also made such delicious food and even sent us home with homemade muffins and cupcakes 🙂 would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cute quiet weekend in WV!

We loved our stay with Kathleen at her guesthouse which is filled with old world charm.
When we arrived in the evening the house was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked bagels which were being baked for our breakfast the next morning!
And what a delicious homemade breakfast it was, all made by Kathleen from her delicious bagels to the eggs and homemade breakfast sausage. The lovely breakfast all presented on a beautifully set table, with side plates, butter knives, beautiful goblets and crockery, was a pleasure to behold ! And then Kathleen's entertaining stories .... well... in short, we needed more time . I highly recommend Gillum House Bed and Breakfast !

Kathleen was a wonderful and gracious host. We had an absolutely marvelous time in Shinnston. Her house is charming and she went out of her way to make our stay memorable and fun. She made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning that she served beautifully. I would highly recommend staying with her at the Gillum House B&B!

Kathleen is an excellent hostess with the mostest!!
She is a history buff with limitless knowledge about the history of the area. A first class concierge with turn by turn directions to sites like the covered bridges. The house is beautiful and authentic to the time period as much as possible. A tasty homemade breakfast is served daily with much love and care. Coffee is fresh roasted and ground daily with your choice of origin. Like visiting your favorite wonderful granny!! We stayed in the main suite with an en-suite bath and beautiful claw footed tub. Big beautiful room and big bath, comfortable bed with custom temperature controls. Who could ask for more Thanks Kathleen for a memorable stay!!

Kathleen goes above and beyond in everything and is the epitome of the perfect B&B hostess. She helped with planning our trip before our arrival including suggestions for other great places to stay. Our room was cozy and comfy and had everything we needed. Her daughter's homemade fragrance free soap was wonderful and I used it frequently on the rest of our trip. The breakfast was delicious and I had Dragon Fruit for the first time. The coffee was among the best I have ever had. Would love to come back for a longer stay.

Kathleen was right out of a Hallmark movie! So much warmth and attention to detail! I would have given it a higher rating if I could! We were pampered with robes and snacks in our room. Home made bread and sausage for breakfast. Fresh roasted and ground coffee. Too many little details to mention.

We stayed for a night on a long trip. The b and b was really a nice respite, plenty toasty warn in the room. The breakfast was cooked fresh, with more choices of coffee beans than any other. Too many choices for me, but I'm a coffee amateur. The large bedroom had lots of space, including a cot for our daughter. Our only wish was a shorter distance from the interstate, but if you like winding narrow roads at night in the rain, it's a driving test you'll appreciate. Kathleen was a very chatty host, and we got to swap industry stories with her before we had to leave. We wish her lots of luck in her business and music making endeavors. Thanks again for warm hospitality.

My wife and i stayed at the Gillum house on our anniversary trip. Kathleen was an excellent host providing travel tips and serving one of the best breakfasts we ever had. She even went out of her way to show us a historic property nearby. If we ever make to West Virginia again we will stay at the Gillum house.||
