Average opinion: 5/5. This beautiful hotel is an independently owned business. I prefer these to chain hotels, the owners are around running the place and doing a great job. There was so much attention to detail we even got a little greeting gift upon arrival. I didnโ€™t see any ghosts this round but the place is very old and is tastefully decorated. There is a bar on site and itโ€™s walking distance to everything Dayton has to offer. I will stay here again if I go back to visit.

I got a sneak preview before the opening on November 18. This place gives an old meets new vibe. Has an independent pub that will serve high-end cocktails and coffee and tea drinks. King beds, a fireplace in the foyer and old world charm with some modern updates. Nestled in a quiet, charming town about 35 minutes drive from Walla Walla, WA called Dayton. This will be a wonderful addition to the area.

We just got back from a quick overnight to Dayton, WA, where we were lucky enough to get into this amazing destination hotel. You will not want to miss the experience of staying in this outstandingly beautiful historic building, but the real treasure is the absolutely exquisite attention to luxury in fit and feature. This is not just a hotel for someone "passing through" the area - you need to drive, fly, swim, whatever to come see this. Well, there are roads here so maybe drive.

The contactless check in and entry is a very nice touch - electronic locks/codes mean you can come and go on your own time with no front desk waiting, and you are even greeted by a welcoming brass handshake from the outside door handle - for real!

The rooms are beautifully appointed with fine details, in a sparse but functional minimalist style, incorporating western/regionally historic themes. Bright brass plumbing everywhere (including the toilet fill tube, what)? Check. Beautiful corner baseboard molding shields in brass, too? Check. Oh wait, did you look inside the freaking door hinges? Carved designs in there also. Light fixtures sourced from who knows where but not from any store on the west coast likely. It is very apparent that no expense was spared in the design of the rooms and the hotel as a whole. Total taste, class, and attention to detail seems to be the hallmark.

I could go on about the luxury rain umbrellas provided in the lobby, the flower-petal water for thirsty folks hanging out that lobby, the tastefully historic info and art (and Paulie Two Paws, grrr) also lobby-located, and who knows what else. But look close, there are luxury details *everywhere* - I was constantly surprised. Not just the lobby, but the rooms of course, and again, EVERYWHERE! Oh yeah, I should mention the huge outside veranda/patio/party area the size of 1.5 tennis courts with a fire pit, cozy seating, lighting, and 21+ guests. We will need to come back when it's not winter time to try this part out.

Yes, this all sounds like it would be expensive to be provided with such care and luxury. Think again, cowboy! At the time of this writing, this hotel is within the same price range you might expect from any "normal" hotel in any eastern Washington town. Probably on par with the chain down the road. Not sure how they're doing it, but please do not miss out on this.

Oh I haven't even started on the Bobcat Room downstairs. This cocktail bar is maybe the best part of the experience. The proprietor is like a Michelin 4 Star Mixologist creating some of the craziest, complicated, flavorful, balanced, and unique cocktails I have ever enjoyed. For the same price you would be charged for a Coors Light at the ball game. Others have mentioned the wine and coffee, and I bet that has the same care and quality of everything else in this place, so we'll try that next time. Maybe, but that Cat could mix!

Crazy. Superlative. Do not miss this. I'm amazed we have this in eastern WA. Tell your friends, but only the cool ones, as this is for them!
