This is definitely a charming hotel. Beautiful river view, clean and very friendly staff. Amenities weren’t impressive, I think higher end details such as in room coffee and tea would be nice. We did not sleep well at all, not because of the noise, but the bed itself could have been higher quality. The decor and vintage feel was nice, and the staff was amazing.

Very conveniently located. Dog friendly, so anticipate dogs barking in the rooms.

I enjoyed the historical aspect of the hotel but I spoke to another guest and they found the floors too creaky.

The toilet in your room makes noise every time someone flushes. However, they supply in every room the best ear plugs ever. They drown out the sound of road and toilet.

Guests are out all day so it’s quiet. Maybe require a room not by the creaky stairs.

I’m giving it a high score because of the price, charm, connivence of the coffee shop below (free coffee offered to guests) and friendliness of the staff.

The front desk is unmanned during the night. That might bother some. I had to get used to it.

Service exceeded everything. Had a snafu situation on my booked/expected room and let the staff know. Jack And Evan went above and beyond to make sure I was happy immediately and the following morning. Nice to know business owners who care. This boutique hotel has historic quirks and is a little gem, 2 blocks from the water. Bed and linens all comfortable and the shower head was the best. Broder Strand restaurant is exceptional… could taste the love in the cappuccino. Would definitely stay again.

We've stayed at the Commodore a number of times over the years and are glad to see the recent change in management. The hotel is perfectly located for a weekend in Astoria, right in the middle of all the cool restaurants, breweries, and shops. The rooms are sparse but well appointed and clean. The front desk hours are limited, but the after hours "self serve" aspect of the hotel is actually pretty convenient. And the addition of Broder Strand downstairs for food and coffee is fantastic.

The one point that could be improved upon is the noise from the street during the night. It's not really the hotel's fault; it's next to a major road that does feature some truck traffic and some folks were yelling in the downtown area around closing time. But if there's an item that should float to the top of the improvement list, it might be better windows (the current ones look to be original to the building).

My recent stay at the Commodore Hotel was so memorable. I've traveled extensively and the Commodore brought to mind all the quaint, comfortable, clean hotels I've stayed at throughout Europe. It's right in the middle of Astoria and everything is just a few steps away. Including the amazing breakfast/lunch cafe in the lobby, Broder Strand. Chow down on delicious and hardy Scandinavian fare before venturing out to discover the town and surrounding sites. If you're looking for unique accommodations for your visit to Astoria, Commodore Hotel is the place for you. I'll definitely be back! Traveler tip: don't miss the cute little vintage shop in the lobby!

Cozy hotel in an old boarding space for travellers, convenient to downtown Astoria and directly above Broder (who give you free coffee if you're staying there). Very affordable off season and a nice combination of small rooms with hall services and larger rooms with attached bathrooms. And you can rent out any combination of spaces at the hotel/cafe/event space, for larger event needs. A cute and pleasant boutique hotel in a cute and pleasant town!

My daughter and I loved our stay at the Commodore Hotel.

The hotel provided a unique, friendly, one-of-a-kind experience you will not find when staying at a franchise.

The property has been wonderfully restored. The Broder Strand restaurant is exceptional. The menu is creative, and the coffee is great.

Staying at the Commodore is also a joy because you can enjoy everything Astoria offers (the Goonies house, breweries, and a cool downtown).

The traffic is very noisy through the windows in the room Also, if you have a floor above you like I did, it is very noise when people are walking around on the wood floors. Sounds like they’re gonna come right through the ceiling.. There is only one restroom and two showers per floor with 10 rooms very limited but do want to see how nice and clean the hotel is and there is no place to park unless you park three blocks away then there’s free parking otherwise it’s paid parking on all streets around the hotel with no passes given to have free parking be warned!
