I attended the 1st Seattle Best Croissant & Baguette Competition on 3/23/25 and was struck by the accomplished baking skill of the pâtissier at Rila Bakery & Café.
The fact that the pâtissier worked in a restaurant but turned to pastry to develop a business is ASTONISHING.
Her mushroom croissant and the salmon croissant as well as the pistachio croissant were delicious!
The fresh ingredients from the Seattle are show in the croissant taste.
The event showcased a few other pastries and their baguette .
But I was so struck by the savory croissants, I kept coming back to their table.
Delicious! Lucky you in Lynwood area to have Rila Bakery & Café easily available to you!

Their breads were fresh and tasty. Get there early, so you can get it fresh. The cake wasn't my favorite (a bit too sugary) and their matcha latte, perhaps not the best I've had. I'm not sure if it was the brand, but it had an odd taste.

Everyone there was very nice and attentive. Clean space and spacious. You can read there or do some homework, which I saw a few people do so.

highly recommend the twice-baked pistachio croissant and the smoked salmon croissant. they were ~$7 each. i went right when they opened and there was a lot to choose from. but i’ve also been an hour before they closed and they sold out on pretty much everything. i’d come back to try more pastries and the drinks.

This bakery seems to specialize in croissants but they also have some unique items like flat croissants and Korean baked goods. We had the almond croissant and pistachio croissant and Portuguese egg tart which were all crunchy and flaky and warm like they should be.

Lovely place. The pastries were excellent (great lamination in the croissants). The staff was super friendly and paid great attention to detail. The decoration is inviting and we felt comfortable enjoying our order.

Rila Bakery is that whole in the wall gem. Beautiful croissants that are flaky, layers upon layers, buttery and toasted, but so light you'll forget you just ate 3 of them in a row. The sandwiches are my go-to. Made with absolute care and perfectly executed to be so balanced. The workers are here are angels as well. I come around 7-7:30 in the mornings, at least once a week if not more. They are worth going out of the way to give them a try.

I just recently discovered this wonderful place and I'll definitely be a repeat customer. Their pastries and breakfast sandwiches are some of the best I've ever experienced! Super cool, friendly staff too.
I started referring friends after my first visit! It's hard to choose a favorite, but I'd say the twice baked pistachio croissant, the thin, chocolate dipped croissant, and the strawberry scone are my top choices so far.
The ferry sandwich is delicious, as is the mushroom gruyere croissant, if you're looking for something more savory.
Full marks to a great new favorite!
