A traditional Viennese coffee house in the Pacific Northwest. The decor is very well done and gives a calm European vibe with earfuls of classical music to whisk you away to another time and place.

Service is good as the worker was not only knowledgeable but very helpful in helping me decide my order (Einspanner, which comes with a non-alcoholic aperitif on the side). They also bus everything for you which is a nice little bonus. You can decaf the specialty menu as I had done but no other modifications are allowed. You are to taste this as intended to their recipe and style; pure.

Do be careful drinking too soon as it is quite hot (I burned my tongue, this is why I usually just drink cold brew or iced coffee haha). The flavor itself is more simple with a few notes. A smooth coffee taste, a bit earthy, and notes of nut for me.

Overall I enjoy visiting unique gems like this especially as this is -- so far -- the only Viennese Kafferhaus in the PNW. Pretty good spot to break up your coffee routine if you need a jump and in the neighborhood!

My secret little hidden gem!! As much as I want to hide this place just for myself, I would like many people to try this cafe. This place got us so into Viennese coffee, we actually went to Vienna for coffee. Highly recommended for everyone in North Seattle to try this lovely place!!

A hidden gem, this cafe is trying hard to achieve the feel of an Austrian coffee house and I think they succeeded.
Growing up in Germany I've traveled a few times to the neighboring Austria and Kaffeehaus de Châtillon does a great job capturing the essence and atmosphere.
They stick strictly to their concept and you will have less options to customize your coffee drinks, but that is a good thing in this case. We love their boozy coffee drinks. They also offer a good selection of tasty Austrian pastries to go with the coffee.
I can't come up with many places in Washington that match this unique atmosphere and this even wouldn't feel misplaced if it was located in Europe. I'm glad we love close by so we can visit more often.

Wonderful place. Most impressive are atmosphere and service. The lady noticed that this is my first time visiting the coffee shop and gave me a warm welcome and an introduction of the recipes. Presentation of the coffee drinks is wonderful. The one I had was delicious. Drinks are served with a shot of soda to be enjoyed after the drink (which is delicious as well). Very pleasant classical music is playing. I highly recommend this place!!

Phenomenal, the owners are super nice and the whole experience is world class. There are no places around like this other than this location for traditional Viennese coffee. I discovered this gem by accident three years ago when I got a new job in the local area. I’m glad I stumbled across it because it has become one of my favorite watering holes to this day.

This is absolutely a must to visit a European coffee shop. They serve various coffees made by following various original Austrian recipes. The pastries are delicious and fresh as well. The atmosphere and service are rare to find anywhere else. A great spot to visit for morning coffee or to treat yourself. We visited them multiple times and brought friends over. They never disappoint!

This is the only place I’ve found in the area to get traditional Viennese coffee. This style of coffee goes back centuries and if you’ve never had this European style of coffee, you’ve got to give it a try! We visited on a Saturday morning and it was quite busy, so we sat at the bar. We loved everything we tried and will definitely be back.

There are lots of coffee options ranging from unsweetened to sweet, and some of the coffees are served with sparkling lavender water, which was amazing. The cake (sachertorte) and ham croissant were also delicious and fresh. The staff is very knowledgeable and can help you find the perfect coffee for your taste. In keeping with the traditional recipes, the shop does not allow substitutions in the drinks.
