Nice lodge just by the border between US and Canada. Rooms have wild west vibe. The staff is very nice. There is restaurant too.

Awesome hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. The room layout was unique and it was beautifully decorated in a mountain lodge theme, loved the hot tub. The balcony had a great view of Mt Baker. The restaurant was also nice. Would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at Sumas Mountain Lodge after an exhausting 18-hour international travel day, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When we booked, we were excited about the large spa bath mentioned for the rooms, but we ended up in the only room with a regular bath. It was frustrating, especially after such a long journey. At that point, it was too late and we were too tired to look for other accommodations.

Upon arrival, the welcome at the reception left much to be desired. The staff was neither hospitable nor friendly, and I was informed that I couldn’t use my American Visa debit card because it didn’t have a name on it. Many debit cards today don’t print names, so we were forced to use our Canadian foreign currency Visa card, which was inconvenient.

The entrance and staircase felt dark and unwelcoming, and at the top of the stairs, there was a storage area that detracted from the overall appearance. Additionally, the back fire escape door was wedged open, which raised safety concerns. I took the initiative to close it myself.

While the room had an interesting decor style, it felt a bit disjointed and dark. The AC unit was quite noisy, making it difficult to enjoy music without turning it up excessively. A couple of light bulbs were out, and there was limited access to plug points; I had to kneel down to plug in devices while simultaneously unplugging others, which was quite inconvenient. Be prepared for this random loud water pipe noise every so often which woke us up, and not to mention the lack of support received from the mattresses, yes we tried both beds and they are so soft and lack any kind of back support giving a really uncomfortable ability to have a good night sleep.

The beds creaked a lot, and some mirrors weren’t cleaned properly. Overall, the environment served for a mediocre night’s sleep, especially with the loud wedding party nearby. While the lodge serves a purpose, I wouldn’t recommend it for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We had a very pleasant stay at Sumas Mountain Lodge. The room was really cozy and well stocked with everything we needed - a Keurig, a tv, a comfy bed, and best of all plenty of towels and bathrobes to be used with the Jacuzzi hot tub! It was such a treat at the end of a long day. The restaurant downstairs seems to have reasonable prices, but we didn't eat there. Would recommend!

In first week of June I found my self in need of a room in north part of county so I contacted Sumas Mountain Lodge. They put me up for 8 nights n treated me like a king in my opinion. The price was great n the people were greater. I'd stay there as often as I could again. The cleaning staff was awesome cleaning the room n not disturbing my things. Food at Bob's was awesome also. Thank you owners n staff

This is a true gem tucked away in a small town that boarders the Canadian boarder. The room was cozy and had a jetted tub. The room didn’t offer a shower but had a sprayer to use in place of a stand up shower. The only suggestion I have is covering the top part of the window in Mt Sumas Suite because the sun beam that hits you in the eye at 5am is a little annoying. Other than that everything was EXCELLENT and we cannot wait to return!

I feel the need to post a review, even though we have 1 more night in the lodge. We are traveling with our 5 year old son. We brought his sleeping bag, just in case, not knowing exactly what the sleeping situation is in our room. We made up a bed on the floor for him with pillows, blankets and his sleeping bag for the first night. He was completely fine with it. We left our room for the day. When we came back in the evening, the hotel staff had brought in a small mattress, all made up and put his sleeping bag on it. We could have had him on the bed, he just kicks a lot. I thought that was such a kind gesture. I highly recommend Sumas Mountain Lodge to anyone traveling to the area. Also, Bob's Burgers and Brew is amazing as well.

I've stayed there a number of times. Nice restaurant and sports bar and restaurant. I did experience something odd very late at night. The sound of furniture slamming against the wall. I thought it was the room next door or someone cleaning in the hallway. Just before opening the door to look outside the noise stopped. Happened twice in the same night. In the morning I shared my experience with the front desk. And she shared stories that others had experience. Is this place haunted? You would have to stay the night and see.
