I love this campground. It's on a small lake on Friday Harbor and they do a wonderful job keeping up the grounds. Not even a stick on the ground when you arrive in summer season. It's well run and has a little country store with minimal hours and a rental booth for little paddle boats and things. There is a sandy beach for swimming on hot days. The lodge itself is really adorable and a great place to go, if you want peace and quiet in the off-season. I love it in winter. During summer there are activities for families, like tye dye and bird house painting. If you go, the kids won't be bored. Lots of bikes for everyone to borrow, but it can be tough to find one on the busiest summer day.

We stayed at Lakedale the first week of March, 2025. At that time of year the resort is quiet. We walked around the campground and just took it easy. The weather was pretty good. We had a couple of beautiful sunny days and a couple of cloudy ones. We haven’t been there in the summer but understand that there are a number of outdoor activities. It’s a lovely place any time of year. We stayed in a log cabin for the first time and it was really nice. We are thinking of staying in a yurt next time we travel there! We will always stay at Lakedale when we visit San Juan Island.

I have been coming here for a few years as part of a fiber arts workshop and have always enjoyed my stay -- Lakedale makes the entire lodge available for us fiber folks and does lots of work to make the workshop extra smooth and enjoyable. The setting is gorgeous and tranquil in the off season, and the rooms are very comfortable. I was moved to leave a positive review today after my third time staying there, an employee called me just 20 minutes after we had checked out to tell me I'd left my wedding rings in the room. Luckily because they were so conscientious I was able to make it back there to retrieve them and still make it to my ferry reservation! Thank you Lakedale!

Stayed in the lodge during the off-season in March. The room was very clean, the lake-view was relaxing, and the breakfast came with hot omelets and potatoes all at a reasonable price. Would return again!

I was so lucky to win 2 nights at the resort. The grounds are amazing, with 2 beautiful lakes,. We stayed in one of their Canvas Cabins, no electricity, but they have a battery operated lantern which was fine. Also they have extra bedding if needed. Loved being on the water, great view of the lodge. Maryann, the Front desk manager, was extremely friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was great and enjoyed eating by the lake. So tranquil. Will definitely go again.

Glamped for the first time and it was far better than imagined! We made a fire every morning and night. The weather was perfect. The beds were SO comfortable. Brought food for dinner and ate outside next to our fire, just the best Birthday ever!

Our first time staying ON San Juan Is and looking for a more reclusive place. Lakedale is almost as hands-off as they come. Make what you want, do what you want atmosphere. ||||We stayed at the Tent Bungalows with restrooms (not Yurts or Cabins) and they were well located and serene on one of 2 lakes on property. Kids got full reign of free bikes to explore which they loved. Open fishing from shore. This is a freeform place which is great for people looking for that kind of retreat. . . which we were. There are multiple options including tent and vehicle camping up to lodge (18+ only). ||||Saw eagles from the SUP and boat! Nice daytime activities like tie-dye shirts.||||Excellent location midway from Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor for all options.||||I definitley recommend Lakedale.

This review is for the tent camp sites. Minus the small amount of flooding we experienced due to a substantial amount of rain, Lakedale was the perfect home base for exploring Friday Harbor. The site was spacious and had a lovely view of the onsite lake. The general store was perfect and we were overwhelmed by the amount of lawn games and activities at Lakedale. We'll definitely be back!
