The Clipper is a good way for travelling from Victoria for the weekend. Its a fairly long ride (just under 3 hours), but it is possible to upgrade seats to have access to the upper deck which has a bit better room and amenities. Generally a smooth ride over on a fast cat with potential views of passing cruise ships or tankers and rarely whales. Gets you from downtown Victoria to Downtown Seattle and can usually be coupled with hotel reservations for a weekend away. We like to get the better seats up top and try and get to the front so we can gaze out the windows.

Fantastic ride upstairs. Staff was friendly and the seats were comfortable. No bad boat feeling at all.

The dock situation was a little sketchy but that is due to changes and improvements.

Unbeknownst to me, I booked the last trip of the season but still had a decent time with a few sightings. I purchased a luxury seat which was super comfortable and on the main deck so I didn't have to walk far for refreshments. They open the front deck on this floor too so you'll get to go outside for photos. Crew were nice and you can purchase a hard drive of the photos they captured on the trip. You can also rent binoculars for $10 which was great since I forgot mine.

Special mention for Jacob and all the staff today from Seattle to Victorias passage.

Jacob and the staff were friendly and accommodating to me traveling alone with a toddler.

Love the complimentary window upgrade in economy and the story the captain told about the depth of the sound.

Appreciate the dock staff waving us bon voyage from the dock as we departed!

The staff very easily accommodated our stroller and a special mention for the yummy beverage (even though massively overpriced!).

We booked last minute but we’re still able to take advantage of a special online which is nice as we often travel on the Clipper to visit the grandparents.

Bon voyage!

Vista class today round-trip Seattle to Victoria. Clean. Good staff, good experience overall. Not a 5. It's rigid and like sitting in coach in the plane when you're in window seat pairs. If the couple in front of you recline their seats, you'll struggle getting in or out. The seats are ok otherwise. Little storage. But you can get up and down and move around. You can go out on the rear deck, but it's windy and chilly.. Food choices and quality are a 3. Alcohol was better. (I had a wine 1-way). Everything is pricey like everybody seems to want to overcompensate since the pandemic, except our consumer wallets. The duty-free gift stuff, meh. We did this ferry once. It was a bucket list. Won't be a do-over. Victoria was beautiful and highly walkable and clean. Everything is close. We would come here again, just not on this ferry. Its pricey. Clearing customs and immigration was pretty simple and organized on both ends. The trip is about 3 hrs each way. We did a day trip. It was a 5 hour layover for us. Experience and the boat were pretty smooth. Pics are Victoria except the window snap.

I took the Victoria Clipper round trip from Seattle to Victoria in March, 2025 and it was a smooth and pleasant trip both ways! The journey through the Straight of Juan de Fuca is beautiful and the ferries are clean and staffed with friendly, helpful people. I had been considering flying directly into Victoria Airport but flights on my dates were $600 more than flying to Seattle. So the ferry ride, which for me came to less than $200, (and that included splurging for the Comfort Class upstairs, which has an included self-service snack area you can enjoy!) STILL saved me $400 compared to flying. The other big advantage? You leave and arrive right in downtown Seattle and the Inner Harbour in Victoria, so you save on taxi fares too! I highly recommend this efficient ferry service between two of the most beautiful cities of the Pacific Northwest, and if you're really lucky, you may even see an orca or two during the two-hour trip! Book ahead, as the ferry does sell out in peak season.

Great way to travel from Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia. Onboarding went smooth, seats were comfortable, and voyage was relaxing. Service was also very good. Both the Seattle and Victoria ports are located at great locations. Victoria port is within 10 minutes walking distance for many lodging, dining, and shopping locations.
