To step into Grain Artisan Bakery is to experience a quiet triumph of substance over pretense, an elegant defiance of the industrialized, sugar-drenched monotony that so often masquerades as modern baking. The setting, modest yet warm, exudes a cultivated charm that rewards the observant and the sincere, much like the owner herself, whose genuine kindness would disarm even the most curmudgeonly critic. Their pastries, gloriously free from the vulgarities of fondant, dyes, or preservatives, are not just gluten-free curiosities but honest celebrations of local harvests, herbs, and floral notes, crafted with a discernment one rarely encounters. With a cup of coffee that held its own in both strength and subtlety, the visit proved not merely pleasurable, but quietly edifying, a reminder that true artisanship, when coupled with moral clarity in sourcing and intent, nourishes more than just the palate.

So far, the best tasting Gluten free items I've tried. I typically only grab some of their biscuits - the Bacon Dubliner, the Jalapeno and Cheddar, the provolone and herb, Almond poppy, Strawberry and cream - the selection of flavors typically changes but they really are delicious. I also love their giant chocolate chunk cookie. They have so many other things I need to but I'll definitely be going back. The photos didn't really do them justice but they are good sized items.

I’ve been going to Grain Artisan for awhile now. I love their cakes and zucchini bread! The texture is amazing, not like your average crumbly gluten free food. Their cakes are soft and fluffy. They have started making more dairy/egg free items, which is helpful for those with other allergies. If you are in the Snohomish area, I’d highly recommend you try Grain out!

If you don’t know about Grain, you must take the drive & get there! I will happily pay for these treasures. Grain is my absolute favorite gluten free bakery not just in WA but that I’ve EVER tried. I’ve been to ALL the gluten free & vegan bakeries in Seattle and the farmers markets & nothing compares. Not only is the owner Lauren extremely conscientious of sourcing her products from local farmers & committed to excellence with her dye free & all natural alternatives, her flavor combinations and texture of her products are out of this world and one of a kind. Really aligns with my values as a Masters-Level Nutritionist but I’m also a foodie and it has to taste great to feel worth my choice to indulge or I won’t waste my time! I don’t know what kind of magic she possesses but she is quite talented & also has always been open to feedback. I have an egg & dairy allergy & most gluten free and also vegan products taste like cardboard to me where you get grit & funky flavors. Like, not worth the splurge & sugar because other products I’m always left disappointed & my cravings were never satisfied until I met Grain. I’m a super taster & not to sound like a snob, but that means I pick up on the nuances & can be hard to please. 😂 Definitely go try a variety of products. My favorites are any of the chocolate cakes. They are perfectly sweetened, not too bitter but also not too sweet. Like if I’m indulging, I LOVE dark chocolate but there’s a fine line between better-for-you ingredients & also wanting it to still taste divine and decadent. Speaking of divine, the vegan cinnamon rolls are exactly that & my all time favorite. I’ve even baked my own from a very popular & talented gluten free baker who I highly adore & respect & even her recipe doesn’t even close to compare. Oh & the brookies & sourdough are wow, wow, wow. The brookies are so fudgey but with the perfect crispy bite on the outside and omg the buttercream fillings. Do you like carrot cake? That’s another favorite. And if you like unique flavors, the Cardamom, Pistachio, Rose cake with a little strawberry layer to complement the buttercream is drool worthy too. I’ve ordered my birthday cake from her for the last 4 years & it’s always a 5 star. My hubby & I have added this as a cozy, fun adventure for our weekend pleasures as the drive is so calming & pretty. And maybe the best part, is my autoimmunity/allergies have never been set off. My hubby doesn’t have to be dairy and egg free and he’s been loving the croissants too and all the dairy-filled goodies. He’s a sucker for high quality dairy if he’s choosing it. As far as I’m concerned, she can take all my money. 😂 It’s highly worth it and I’d rather pay for the highest quality and something I absolutely love for those times I want to indulge. Give them a try. I recommend them to all my clients who’s health also necessitates a GF lifestyle. Its 100% worth the drive and you have to try them!

We hired Grain to make the desserts for our wedding and were so thrilled we went with them!! They have the best dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan desserts I've ever had. We chose a smaller cutting cake and a variety of other smaller desserts, and our guests absolutely loved them. Their tasting box is also amazing, we had the best time tasting everything with my family. If you have dietary restrictions in your family or just love delicious desserts, you must choose Grain Artisan Bakery for your next event!

5/5 star experience overall. Not a single complaint. The worker Alana did hella good with my mocha. 12/10 beverage, she deserves a raise.

Some of the items I got were decent. I liked the tiramisu and the cookies, but the croissant was oddly cheesey/thick.. instead of light and buttery. Understandably making a croissant gluten-free must be difficult.

I was primarily disappointed in the Earl Grey Lavender Cake. This tasted a bit soapy and it was dry, not moist. Go for the other desserts, maybe not the cake.

This is always my daughter’s top choice for mommy/2nd daughter dates. I love their coffee as well as their caffeine free coffee alternative drinks which have great herbal flavors that are not overly sweet. I tend to crave more savory drinks and they hit the spot.

She loves their cake slices and scones.
