Our stay here was fabulous and a highlight of our trip. The inn is beautifully restored while still capturing its vintage charm. The room was comfortable and quaint, the family lounge area was spacious with beautiful views, the restaurant and bakery has delicious and unexpectedly unique food offerings that will keep you coming back for every meal, and the staff members were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I highly recommend this inn and restaurant.

We stayed in the Cottage which was lovely! Friends stayed in the rooms within the main building which were cozy. Customer service via email prior to the trip was very helpful and prompt responses. Location is as good as you can get if your trying to ski at Steven's Pass! Would stay again! 🙂

We had our wedding here and booked the whole inn for our guests. I am so happy that we chose this location. The staff is wonderful to work with. It was the perfect small location to make our event more intimate. It is such a beautiful area and the historic inn rooms are adorable. Additionally, Chef Fabian and his crew did a phenomenal job of serving all of our guests. Everybody loved it and raved about what fun they had.

I spent one night in the Bush House with my son. It was a last minute trip (Winthrop was completely (!) booked that weekend) and plan B. The location of the hotel is fantastic. You can watch the setting sun light reflecting off the peaks and the rising sun the next morning is pretty dramatic. Our room (right by the rec area) was conveniently located across the hall from the full bathroom. I loved the result of the (apparently) very lengthy restoration and I understand the simple esthetic of the room(s). However the simple design isn’t necessarily functional - the pretty antique wardrobe is great to look at but with two hangers and a ‘hat’ shelf 🙂 doesn’t fulfill any practical purpose. The rooms are bare! Loved the heated floor. Almost $200 per night for a small room with a shared bathroom seems rather steep. I’m glad we stayed regardless. Index is charming.

We loved our stay at the Bush House Inn! Beautiful little inn in a beautiful spot convenient to many outdoor activities. The staff was very friendly helpful, the rooms were clean, and the food was excellent! Train tracks nearby but it was not a problem despite us being very sound sensitive. We definitely recommend the Bush House Inn.

The hotel is fully renovated and the historical theme is shown through the hotel. There are old classic books, furniture, and accents from the entrance to the rooms. Comfortable, and clean rooms with older furniture. Not a bad thing just maintaining the theme. Located in the town of Index this place has a lot of historical significance and is a historical site so the renovations were kept true to the early 1900s. On another note this hotel has lots of charm and excellent customer service, location and pricing near numerous well known hiking trails such as Lake Serene and Bridal veil falls within others. The things the hotel does not have are some of the features you maybe used to in other hotels such as Ice machines, vending machines, microwaves, mini fridge, TV, Coffee makers, and on suite bathrooms. Ice is available at the restaurant downstairs and only during their working hours, Breakfast and Coffee is available also at the restaurant. Bathrooms are shared and in the hallway near the rooms. There are rooms with bathrooms however those are more for families way bigger and higher prices. They do have a recreational room with board games and great views of the mountains behind the hotel. None of these things make the hotel less competitive to the contrary keeps the old them and keeps you living a simple life. We read the description of the hotel on Expedia and it was all true about the hotel, rooms and amenities so no surprises there. We will continue to stay here when in town it has been an excellent stay and we highly recommend this location.

In Index is a charming town a short ways off of the bustle of US2. The Inn has been throughly renovated, but maintains charm and character of its history. I felt very welcome. Lots of views that remind you that you are well into the mountains. enjoyed the Heybrook Ridge Trailhead that is about a quarter of a mile away. The restaurant is managed separately from the Inn and I had several pleasant meals there. If you are looking for a spot to sample the Cascade Mountains, this is a great place to base your visit.

My sister and I stayed in the 3rd floor "penthouse" suite and it suited us perfectly. The food we had at dinner and breakfast was great. The ravioli that we had both nights was exquisite as was the delicious berry cobbler to top it off. Everyone we met....Summer, Sky, the bartender (Monica?) and of course the humble chef Fabian, who brings his amazing talent to such a wonderful place, were delightful.
