This is the absolute worst room I have ever been in, we could not find anywhere else, $90.00. There were no other options within more than an hour drive. Had I been able to get my money back, I would have slept in my car. I didn't sleep at all any way because the person that checked us in and came to show us how to use the door key pad said "we have these kind of locks so nobody can kick your door in". It was too much for just a roof over our heads?
AC very loud, single roll out cot/bed advertised as queen, bed sheets… sketchy with holes and .. towels with holes and wash cloths… .....literally cut in fourths from a towel. Notice the "curtains" over the cot bed...a blue fitted sheet is hanging there...I could have just died.... The bed sheets on the FULL bed/not queen...were old orange floral with holes in it. Lighting was 2 small reading lamps, there were 2 plugs in the room one had TV plugged in and then a extension cord that had the fridge and microwave and lamp plugged into it.
I would not have stayed had it not been for my very sick brother who needed to lay down and not be cramped in a car. I did have a blanket and pillow with me thank goodness.

I'm honestly, one of the least picky people to please but was shocked at the conditions of this place. Sheer curtains and no blinds in the bathrooms. Sheer curtains on one of the main area windows and a baby blanket hanging over the other. Pillows were flat as a pancake. Old towels and no wash cloths.Showers and floors were dirty. Didnt even take a shower after being at a dirt track because the showers were so disgusting. My husband laid his drink down for a minute and found a roach crawling on it. We literally slept with the lights on all night,so they wouldnt crawl on us.For $70 a night, I would have expected alot more. Im not trying to be mean, but if you are going to run a place, you should take more pride in it. I just dont want people to find out like we did.

A total rip off. $60 for just a roof over our heads?
AC very loud and failed, smoking Neighbors, single bed advertised as queen, bedsheets… sketchy.. towels… a joke (looked like floor rugs). Bathroom… another joke.
I had better ones in cheapest hotels in westAfrica for $5/a night. LoL.
Luckily we had own towels and pool flip-flops to take shower.
The only reason we actually stayed there was that we arrived late and there were no other options within more than an hour drive.

The manager was very nice and friendly. The floor was clean and the sheets looked clean. However,
(1) The pillows were very flat and in shams. I did know if the shams had been washed so I asked for extra pillows and cases. There were non available "because people keep stealing them". I went to the store and bought some.
(2) There was no chair in the room. The only place to sit was on the bed.
(3) There was 1 small bath towel and 1 larger one that was very thin and threadbare. There was no handtowel.
(4) There was no mat or rug to step out of the shower. Had to stand in my puddle while trying to dry.
(5) Shower curtain would not adjust and kept falling down.
(6) Water got only lukewarm, not hot.
(7) No soap. Fortunately I had some in my bag.
(8) No paper cups to get a drink or rinse after teeth brushing.
(9) No wastebasket for trash.
(10) Refrigerator roared. Had to unplug it to try to sleep.
(11) Walls thin and/or people in the next room very noisy. Snoring, loud TV, loud talking, and 'other noises'.
(12) If there is a 'smoking area', as indicated on the website, it must be outside the 2 rooms next to ours. Several guests and manager all smoking there.
(13) The pictures on the website are deceiving. The grounds do not look anything near as nice as the pictures.

The only okay part about our one-night stay was that we had a bed to sleep on. The door code did not work, and the manager had to come and give us an override code; we had to ask for more towels; there was no toilet tissue in the room and I had to ask for that (I still cannot begin to understand why there was no toilet tissue!); no soap at all and had to ask for that so we could take a shower. (We had to wait while the Manager's husband literally had to go to the store to get us some soap.) When I finally was going to be able to shower after he brought the soap back, the water would not get hot in the shower and after waiting about 5 minutes I ultimately took a cold/barely warm quick shower. However it did start to warm up when I was getting out and so my boyfriend was able to have a hot shower. The refrigerator gurgled off and on all night so staying asleep was impossible. There was no chair in the room at all, and so we could only sit on the bed. After a long day of hiking in the woods, having to sit on the bed while waiting for soap to take a showers was not ideal for sure. The floors were dirty. I could feel the grime on my bare feet, and no floor rugs at all. There was a dead roach lying in a bunch of moldy-looking gunk near the shower. If I hadn't been so tired I'm pretty sure we would have asked for a refund and left.

I will give credit where credit is due, though, and say that the lady manager was friendly and she did accommodate our requests for the things I mentioned above. She tried to explain why there was no soap in the room, saying something about how they had not been able to put soap in the rooms until now. I wanted to ask why in the world that was the case, but I was just too tired at that point.

I hate to leave such a negative review, but there is no way around it. Too many things were just bad. I was grateful for a bed to sleep on and the bed was clean as best as I could tell. If I had read a review like the one I have just written there is no way I would have stayed there. Hopefully this review will motivate them to clean up and make things much better for future people.

Stayed in there for 3 days. It's a 1950's motel that hasn't been maintained since then. The room was about 10'x10' with a full size bed. The bathroom was the size of a closet with just a shower. Trash, dog waste and garbage outside the room. A 55 gallon barrel outside the door full of trash. It's a place where people live not a motel. The people living there were wonderful. Beautiful people. Friendly. Great people. What made it even worse is when they broke into my room to repair the room nextdoor. Long story short my room AC didn't work so the room nextdoor door was opened with a fan to keep my room cool. They came inside my room to access the connected room to do repairs after I told the homeless man that does repairs to wait until I check out. They didn't. Avoid this place.

There are really no choices to stay in the Clay County area except the Country Inn Motel. But this is ok. This is an old style highway motel straight out of the 60's. No hair dryer, shampoo stuff, etc. So if planning a visit there, pack your stuff. Steve and Linda are really nice people and what the place may lack in amenities they make up for in kindness. My only request is that they improve wifi. I never could get it while in the room. Probably those brick walls. Even my cell service was spotty in the room. The bedspread had cigarette burns, but the room didn't smell like smoke and seemed pretty clean. Overall, if they replaced the bed spreads, upgraded the towels a little and improved the wifi it would be a good value for the price. If you have cat allergies, you might need to bring an allergy pill cause they are pet rescuers. Super nice people.

By far the best motel I've ever been to. Clean rooms very comfy bed free WiFi and where do I even start with the owners. We were her a little bit before Thanksgiving and we were invited to join them for an amazing feast. No to mention they bought my daughter a Christmas present. They always ask us how we are doing and they truly care about everybody staying here. They have no tolerence for drugs and alcohol which makes me feel safe to have my daughter here. I have seen reviews about bugs and I have stayed here for a few months and can assure you I haven't seen one single bug.. must be under new management.
Very good people I will recommend this place to anyone I know. Also great location across the street from McDonald's and right down the street from gas station and grocery store
Overall it's a great place to stay short or long term
Thank you for your time
God Bless
