Great stay is all I can say. The staff was great (Noemi, Chloe, Maria, Ally and Victoria). Little bar area is great. Centrally located and easy walk to anywhere. Will most definitely Will stay here again the next time we visit. Cannot say enough positive things about our stay.

Can’t say enough great things about this place! Hotel is very cute and well decorated. Rooms are super clean and bathrooms are wonderful! We arrived around 9pm and were able to choose a local beer as soon as we were settled (amazing after a long travel day)! Cafe is 24/7 which is great! It is also right downtown which is amazing! Staff is super friendly and pleasant. Felt very safe! Can’t wait to come back!

Booked three nights at this quiet, comfortable hotel and was warmly greeted by Chloe, whose knowledge of Portland’s restaurants and coffee spots was really helpful to this first-time visitor. I asked for a quiet room, so was given an upstairs room that overlooked the roof of an adjacent building, but was very quiet, so I didn’t mind the lack of view. Rooms are spacious and bedding was comfy. The bathrooms are nicely appointed, with ample hot water in a large shower with a phenomenal shower head. Best of all, this place is a quiet refuge in a city that offers plenty of activity. I extended my stay to five nights, which allowed me enough time to explore Portland’s extensive foodie attractions. There is a Harlow Vegetarian Cafe about a mile away that serves up some of the best smoothies, salads, and vegetarian bowls that I’ve ever tasted. Don’t confuse this with the coffee bar in the hotel’s adjacent lobby or you’ll be disappointed (they are both located on Harlow Street).||There is a coffee bar/cocktail bar in the adjacent lobby space which is quite charming but seldom used (which is a shame because it’s a great place to enjoy coffee & conversation with a friend). During my stay they were updating their cocktail menu, so Jamie, who was also working at guest reception, made me a custom lime & coconut milk cocktail that was quite tasty.||Another review described this hotel as having Southern charm (think: large staircase, good-sized rooms with spacious bathrooms) and I would agree with that. If you’re seeking a good night’s sleep in one of Portland’s less popular neighborhoods, give the Harlow Hotel a try. Reasonable rates & a quiet, unassuming vibe. I would return.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Harlow Hotel in Portland, Oregon, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.

Upon arrival, we found the accommodations to be disappointing. The room had a strange and unpleasant smell, which made my stay uncomfortable. In addition, there was no where to store our clothes. Despite the potential charm of the hotel, this issue significantly impacted our overall experience.

Additionally, the service from one front desk attendant, specifically Jamie, was less than welcoming. We encountered rudeness and a lack of helpfulness that was quite surprising. A warm and professional reception is essential in hospitality, and this was certainly lacking during our stay.

Housekeeping was another area of concern. The beds were not made, toilet paper was not refilled, and trash cans were left unemptied during our entire three night stay. These are basic expectations for any hotel, and their neglect reflects poorly on the hotel’s standards.

We hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works towards improving their services. Until then, we cannot recommend the Harlow Hotel to other travelers.

Truly disappointing. No coffee maker and no refrigerator in the room. When we checked in (didn't let us in until after 4 p.m.), NO towels in the room and only four clothes hangers. Windows (city view meant view of street and building across the street only) were filthy. Last day there, towels were not serviced and bathroom was not cleaned. Service at the front desk was sketchy at best. And the homeless problem immediately adjacent to the hotel was awful.

I stayed at the Harlow for a quick weekend trip from Seattle. Overall, an okay experience.

The good:

- The rooms have AC. This weekend was pretty warm so cranking down the temp was nice.

- The lobby, hallways, and rooms look nice. Well appointed, clean, stylish.

- Nice shower, comfy bed and pillows. Nice toiletries provided in the room itself.

- Walking distance from the train station, which is nice if you take the Amtrak to Portland.

The bad:

- They have a nice little bar/cafe in the ground floor, but at no point this weekend was I able to use it. No one was around - not at the cafe, not at the front desk.

- When we checked in and walked into our hotel, there were little bugs on the bed and on the counter. Not bed bugs; maybe gnats or something. But yeah, not great.

- Though I didn’t hear any noise from the hallways or other rooms, noise was frequent outside. Mostly mentally ill people yelling and cars with loud exhaust/music. And we were on the top floor.

For the price I paid, I’d say this hotel was worth it. But there was a lot of room for improvement. They don’t seem properly staffed, which diminished the experience. Next time I’d probably stay in a taller hotel so noise isn’t as much of an issue.
