This hotel has a great location! The rooms are decent, but unfortunately, the AC/heating unit is quite loud, which can make it difficult to sleep, and there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it. Additionally, I was surprised to find that there are extra charges for services like handling mail, which seems unusual compared to other hotels. It feels like there are many small fees that could add up during your stay. While the location is a plus, the extra charges and noise issues made my experience less than ideal.

The room itself was nice, the bathroom needed remodeled. A visible patch in the bottom of the tub, the mirror has extensive moisture damage, no exhaust fan, the main bathroom light was out, we asked for the bulb to be replaced or if they had a bulb we could change it. We were told they would send someone up, however it was never fixed.

The restaurant, coffee shop and servers were great. Valet was also great service.

Great location with amazing views of the river. I enjoy this hotel for the great views and the location. They also have a bar / restaurant on site which is very good. The salmon with pea risotto was excellent! Overall, very good !

Only 4 stars on service as the staff do not go above and beyond. I forgot my credit card at the bar and called the front desk 10 minutes later asking them to retrieve it and hold it for me until I returned. The front desk did not follow through or make a note
of it leading to me having to search every bill wallet at the end of the night until my card was found. They could have easily used that bill wallet again and given my card to a stranger. I trusted the Marriott name and expected exceptional service. I was very disappointed. Housekeeping and the club level service was exceptional

I used to stay here years and years and years ago on vacation and was excited to see what this once very modern and fancy hotel had to offer. I was so disappointed to see how dated it felt and such an insult to have Windows in the room so distorted. You could hardly see through the windows to see the beautiful River or mountain view. Not only was the window unable to see clearly through, but there was only one small window in the room. There seemed to be a window coating peeling off the window along with it being dirty. Extremely distracting. And nothing that I would expect for a Marriott hotel. That is definitely a design flaw. The room was small to average size and the bathtub shower experience was okay. I did seem to run out of hot water at one point which seemed very strange. The restaurant is nice in the lobby. We enjoyed dinner there together. Overall for the price I would spend my money at the many other Portland hotel establishments and skip this one. It is way overpriced for what it is.

While this hotel is a little older, the location is excellent, right across from the park on the river. Additionally, all the staff I interacted with were kind and helpful, which seems to be a rarity these days. The M-Club, while nothing compared to an Marriott executive lounge in an overseas location, still provides a decent breakfast and hors d'oeuvres for elite members. The only downside of the hotel is the pricey valet parking, but that's common for the area. Overall, I'll be happy to stay here on my next trip to Portland.

I woukd have gone 5 but there were just a couple small things that kept this review low. First the "grab and go snacks/lunch" is cocktail peanuts and kids size gold fish crackers with all you can drink no sugar soda. Then on Sunday trying to get a cup of coffee and a bite to eat was impossible. The staff were feeding themselves while explaining I'm sorry it's 7 minutes past and the coffee machine was not working. Then I return to my room on the 14th floor to find the coffee maker in here is missing parts and will not operate without them. Then during my last shower I try getting the very last of the provided conditioner out of the bottle and the adhesive holding it to a shower wall let's go and it falls to the ground completely empty. This being the morning of departure after spending hundreds in the last 3 days with these guys. I may or may not ever stay again but definitely won't be recommending for any future stays. The wow factor just wasn't there.
***update. The coffee shop onsite was sub par at best as well. They didn't have much to offer for breakfast and served me a hardly Luke warm Carmel latte. When I asked if there was something wrong with the machine due to the drink not even being hot they seemed to be "put out" to remake the drink "extra hot" but then did not put any flavoring syrup in it this time. So the room = small and tight on the 14th floor especially the shower, the staff = horrible at listening and providing service to say the least. Will not be going back anytime soon I'm sorry to say.

I called before arriving to hotel to ask a few questions. I was surprised how cold and unfriendly answers I received.
Arrived later and signed up for valet parking only to realize their system simply does not work. Valet staff tried their best but were struggling. It’s worth self parking. Cheaper, faster service, less aggravating.
At 11pm woke up from loud people noise in from next room. Called the service twice to get security up to quiet the neighbors. On my second call, after 10 minutes that noise continued the receptionist ask if I would want to move room. No thank you. 11pm!!! Where are the good old days where the hotel respect the people that follow the rules over the people that do not.
Location is good, hotel is pretty old. Rooms are ok.
