This is a fantastic launching pad for climbing Mount St. Helens. We stayed here two nights in a cabin, before and after our climb. We enjoyed eating at the Cougar Bar & Grill the first night and Bigfoot's Lodge the second night. Both were fantastic! Friendly service and cozy accommodations. The camp spots look great too and in June they have a pool that will be open as well. Great place!

Lone Fir Resort truly surpassed all my expectations. From just reading their policy, I could tell this place was run by thoughtful, considerate people, with a real focus on technology.

We were greeted by a warm, friendly lady in the office, which set the tone for our stay. The resort had just been remodeled, and everything was pristine, stylish, and comfortable. Our room had a cozy mountain vibe, and the bed was incredibly comfy. The towels felt like they came from a five-star hotel, and the shower-head was amazing. The heating system worked perfectly and was easy to adjust. Plus, all the small appliances were in great shape and functioned smoothly.

We also had the best burgers and fries – so delicious! The on-site store had a great selection of useful items and fun souvenirs. Everything about this place was top-notch, and the quality for the price is unbeatable. We can’t wait to return!

I have stayed 2 times at Lone Fir Resort. Everyone has been great; they are kind and quick to help if anything is needed. The location is perfect for the outdoor activities I want to do. It was very snowy this last trip, and it was a great time we had a fire pit they gave us towels to dry off the outdoor chairs, and they were so kind. The price was affordable, so I can keep coming back. Thank you...

Very nice cabins, extremely clean and well taken care of. Perfect location near Mt. St. Helens in Cougar Washington. Beautiful scenery, lakes and wildlife in the surrounding areas. Deer at the campground during the evenings. Restaurant is delicious and staff are extremely nice. Always enjoy my stay at Lone Fir Resort. The cabins have a fridge and microwave, some of the rooms have a kitchen stove. Prices are affordable. If you are looking for a wonderful getaway this is the spot.

Spent another few days at Lone Fir Resort. Got to stay in Cabin 10. Very cozy and comfortable. I arrived in the evening, the heat was on and they left lights on for me. It was very welcoming. Had dinner at the cafe, which was delicious. Thank you Tabby for your delicious food and friendly personality. The rain was wonderful and I enjoyed listening to it on the metal roof. I will be back.

We stayed at the Lone Fir Resort a few days ago for two nights. It is in a nice location if you’d like to hike to Mt St Helen’s. If you want to drive to the visitors center, it is quite out of the way.
The service was great. Friendly desk workers and cafe workers. The restaurant had great food however we did think it was very overpriced.
My only real complaint is the room. We had a 2 bedroom room on an upper level. To begin with, we were right over an industrial laundry room. This caused our room to smell absolutely horribly of mildew. The room was also dirty. The floors had dirt that you could feel under your feet when walking around. The bigger bed felt like it had dirt in the sheets - almost like grains of sand. The twin beds both had so many plastic protectors on them that you couldn’t move without waking up someone else.
Finally, the stairs leading up to our room looked extremely unstable. They felt creaky and old when walking on them. We looked at them from across the way and you can see in my attached photo that it looks like the stairs may give out at any minute (the bottom of the left post). From then on we were sure to only have one person walking on them at a time. Definitely something that needs to be fixed before someone gets injured. The wood is rotting and dangerous.
Overall I would recommend it if you’re looking for a nice quiet place on that side of the mountain. Otherwise, I would look for a more reliable hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip. What a wonderful place. We had cabin #12, which was a little smaller that we thought, but very workable. My husband and I ended up in the bunk beds due to our son being 6'3 and they were very comfortable. I was very surprised. It was really nice to have the coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge. The bathroom was quite small, but the shower shower was really great. The towels were very soft. We had problems connecting to the TV but as soon as we called the front desk they sent somebody right away. We use the restaurant twice and the food was very good, service was a bit slow and strained though. To be honest we would have eaten there for breakfast had they not opened at 11:00 a.m. We just love the area, and the view from the port of air cabin. It's a really well done and laid out place with options for just about everyone. It was a great base for us for the activities we had planned. Overall it was just a fantastic stay, and we would stay here again. Infect we hope to come back maybe next year with our daughter as well.
