Just a heads up to my fellow customers of color: if you go in with casual attire like a hat and sweatpants and ask for something specific, like Don Julio, you may get a bit of a runaround. When I asked for it, the first employee said, “Sure, head up to the front, and we’ll bring it up.” But once I got there, another staff member told me they needed 15 more minutes to retrieve it.

I could see they had the Don Julio in stock, so the experience felt a bit off. Just wanted to share this so others can stay aware and prepared. Overall, it’s surprising to encounter this, but these are the times we live in. Stay safe, everyone!

I have a hot take; unrivaled customer service. I stop in to this location about twice a month because I live way up north in Brier and work nights at the port in Queen Anne. At first I thought it was odd that you literally cannot shop by yourself for longer than 5 seconds before a salesman approaches you on the floor asking if you if you need help finding anything.
I realized it’s probably an outstanding deterrent to shoplifters but it’s also peak salesmanship and upselling when I get an educated opinion on something I’m interested in.
For example, I have an uncanny obsession with Viognier wine and I was flabbergasted that not only did the associate know what I was talking about, but also had superb recommendations that led me on to further products.
After visiting a Total Wine location in Houston, Texas and coming back to Seattle I realized how good we have it in customer service, and with enigmatic associates. I can’t emphasize enough how solid the experience is and how much I enjoy not having to spend time searching for something. Don’t change. Sincerely, another happy customer.

went to buy my dad a nice bottle of tequila. staff clearly didn’t think I was 21 or didn’t think I had the money. They followed me around the whole store and at one point two managers came and asked if I “needed help”. I was on the phone with my mom and a staff member who had already asked TWICE interrupted my phone call with my mom- I actually had to say “Im on the phone”. Overall I think I was approached about 10 times from staff. I asked for wifi which they gave, and that was the only good thing about the experience. They could have just asked me for my ID instead of making the whole experience horribly awkward and extremely anxiety inducing. I’ll never go back again. Never felt so weird doing something I am allowed to do.
