If you were not planning to go to Anacortes, take a detour to have breakfast or lunch here. They don’t do dinner but wish they did! Awesome selections of food and the pastries are incredible. Cinnamon rolls are huge, big enough for two. Wide selection on the menu. Also have mimosa flights with around twenty different selections for a flight of four. Staff very friendly and very patient with us trying to figure out what we wanted to order. I had the blueberry pancakes and my daughter had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Both were great.

Attentive staff and homey atmosphere. We got a sandwich on focaccia that looked delicious, but was a very dry cornbread-like texture that crumbled immediately which was disappointing. Great country style potatoes. I think I prefer their Mount Vernon location, although I’ll definitely give this one another try at some point! 🙂

Calico Cupboard is such a cozy and welcoming spot. We tried the hot chocolate, and it was honestly so good—rich and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The whipped cream on top was perfect, though it did feel a little rich toward the end of the cup. Still, it was such a comforting treat, and I’d happily go back to try more!

Food was a bummer - it didn’t live up to the expectations/ hype. Got the Brussels sprouts hash - I requested that the potatoes be extra crispy but it came non- crispy . The fresh orange juice was good .

Burger was buttery, unfortunate they upcharged on all gluten free items (even though not dedicated area for GF as noted). Likely good if you're not GF.

We visited for lunch after hiking at Sharpe Park. My huevos rancheros was a little bland (not much seasoning) but the eggs were cooked correctly and the green chile sauce was very good. My friend had the fish tacos and thought they were excellent. The cinnamon roll we shared for dessert was large and tasty; in my opinion it could have been a bit more decadent, with more cinnamon and moisture, but it was very good and I left only the bare outer layer on my plate. Service was excellent. I would definitely be happy to eat there again but would order something more traditional rather than an ethnic specialty item. (Note that as a vegetarian, high-protein options were basically limited to eggs; there are no meat substitutes on the menu.)

Came here for lunch on a weekday and waited under 5 minutes for a table inside (they also have patio seating outdoors). Ordered the Old Town Lunch with half a Washington Turkey sandwich, and upgraded to a cup of Clam Chowder. My friend had the Tuscan Turkey and salad. Hearty meal all around! The Washington Turkey was heavy-handed with the chive cream cheese, but still had a fair filling ratio. Service was friendly and our water was constantly topped up. They also have a display case with some prepared pastries and baked goods at the front for takeout. Good experience!
