We had such an incredible experience on our 3 hour kayak tour! Prior to our tour, Megan was very helpful with scheduling and even assisted us with recommendations for hiking and activities in the area. Our tour guide, Gabe, was also phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable, fun and was very clear with his directions, as kayaking in the open water can be a bit intimidating. We saw Eagles, Porpoises and had a sweet harbor seal follow behind us on almost the entire tour. We would absolutely book with Anacortes Kayak Tours again!

My wife has always wanted to Kayak near the San Juan Islands in hopes to see Orca. Anacortes Kayak Tours came highly recommended. We were a little tentative about kayaking in the open waters of the bay since we are seniors and have only kayaked on a fresh water lake before. All our concerns were quickly put at ease by our tour guide, Cora. She was not only very knowledgeable about kayaking and the history of the Islands, but she was such a down to earth person with who we shared stories about everything on our trip. I feel, not only, that Cora was the perfect guide but also like we made a friend. I highly recommend Anacortes Kayak Tours, and ask for Cora but I'm certain all the guides share the same professionalism.

Our group of four rented kayaks from AKT for a multi-day trip to Lopez and Shaw islands. The gear was in impeccable shape. AKT’s crew is second to none - Megan runs a tight ship, Liam is friendly & informative, Corra delivered our boats to the ferry harbor and let us know the rules of the water in a positive but firm way (slightly intimidating even 😉). Our experience was so positive and we cannot recommend them enough. Cheers from some Midwest adventurers!

I've been on three excursions with AKT and they have all been fantastic. The guides are great. The trips well planned. Food is excellent. We've seen tons of wildlife. This past trip we saw porpoises, seals, otters, tons of sea stars, and sea anemones. The bioluminescence at night was epic. Could not recommend more strongly!

I had the good fortune to go on a fully catered 5 day paddle with AKT a couple weeks ago with my son's middle school. We were a group of 22 students and 4 adults and 3 guides. Our guides were very knowledgeable about paddling and the ecosystem, friendly to the students, and encouraging to all of us. We stayed on one island all week and took daily paddles from there tailored to the current, tides, and ability of the group. I cannot stress enough how much effort went in from the guides to make our time enjoyable despite cold, windy weather. Megan's team also sent in the most delicious food for us! Every meal had veggies and was nutritious and delicious. We even got homemade rhubarb crisp on our resupply day. Truly a stand-out trip! My family wouldn't hesitate to paddle with AKT again!

Our guide Leo, he was very friendly and helpful, make more fun for us. The views are gorgeous! And saw some sea otters and birds. I'll recommend akt to my family and friends!

My friend and I did the 3 day Cypress Island tour on 08/31-09/02 with Nate as our guide. Nate is a friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming guide, and I hope you are able to keep him around for seasons to come.

Special thanks to Anacortes Kayaking Tours for being accommodating with my friend’s and I’s trip. We were supposed to go in July, but about 2 weeks before our scheduled departure date, I broke my collarbone making even dressing for the trip impossible. The office was kind enough to reschedule myself and my friend for a tour later in the season when they were within their right to say “sorry, this happened within 30days of your trip, we can’t help you out with this one” and then take our money and leave us empty-handed. Instead they found an available tour date for the same tour at a date that worked well with my recovery timeline.

The other mention I want to give a shout out to is that AKT allows you to upgrade to single kayaks (for a fee). My friend and I have done two other multi day trips with a different kayaking company in the San Juan Islands and upgrading to a single kayak was not an option we were given. Now that I’ve had the experience of driving a single kayak on a multi-day trip, I don’t want to go back to a double!

Next summer I hope to do the 5 day trip with a fully revamped collarbone and a kayak all to myself. Hopefully we’ll see Nate around too.
