We booked this property to stay at for an upcoming trip. When looking at our itinerary online, the booking accidentally got cancelled. We reached out to both Expedia and the property owner within minutes to inform them of what happened and to get the booking fixed. We let both parties know that we wanted to stay at this property and the cancellation was a mistake. The property owner refused to help. They would not reinstate the booking unless we paid for the room again. The property owner also refused to work with Expedia so that the we could rebook the room. They charged us over $1,300 for the room and refused to fix the cancellation or refund us. We understand that the room was listed as non-refundable, but mistakes happen and we reached out immediately. This is a shady way to conduct business. Do your research before booking. Other renters have had similar issues with the owners and issues with the quality of the rentals.

Unlike other reviews, I had a great experience here! We stayed here for a few days the first week of March and had no problems. People are complaining about having no check-in info and paying a "hidden" cleaning fee. I booked this on VRBO and the listing explicitly states that part of your total cost ($50) will be paid when you receive check in info a couple days before. You have to complete the forms and go through the check-in process before you receive your door codes to the property, which they will send the morning you check in. Vince, who I assume owns or manages the property, was the one who reached out prior to checking in, then also checked to make sure we settled in ok. The bottom floor is 1 big shared space and kitchen, then each room has a tiny kitchenette and bathroom. We had no problems with anyone else staying in the building, as everyone seems to mind their own business and are gone for most of the day. At night and in the morning you are able to hear people in the rooms around you, but that didn't really bother me since nobody was obnoxious. It is an easy 20-30 minute bus ride to downtown but the area around the property also has lots to explore. Overall I recommend if you're ok with not having the whole building to yourself and aren't looking for an extravagant stay!

This place is a scam and absolutely impossible to work with. I was attempting to be in touch with them and when that was unsuccessful, I reached out to my credit card company. Over a month of working towards getting the booking issue resolved, they have refused to collaborate. They are impossible to work with and will not answer phone calls, texts, or emails. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Pay more somewhere else. These folks will charge you $80 for washing with a wash cloth after asking you to play "guess the breaker" when the power goes out.

My stay was 10/19-10/27. During that time, my power randomly went out twice, once 100% the fault of the property. This building is not set up to have kitchenettes in every unit, and your power will turn off if you use it. If you decide to use the shared kitchen downstairs, someone else's power will turn off. When you reach out to the property to ask about it, they'll tell you to go check the breakers in the common area. Even if you flip the correct one, it will immediately go back off for one of the aforementioned issues.

I decided to ignore that problem until I checked my statement to find a charge for $80.99 and reached out to ask why. The property manager (I assume), Vince, said that my deposit had been retained for "stained sheets and a broken pillow", which turned out to be a washcloth lightly soiled with makeup and a cheap pillow that had come slightly apart at the seam. How I could have "broken the pillow" is a mystery, since I don't have a habit of wrestling with pillows I don't even have on the bed, or throwing sharp objects while unconscious.

I asked for the $80.99 to be refunded, stating that any self-respecting lodging would use bleach on their towels to provide clean conditions for their guests, to which he responded that the provided black cloth should have been used instead. I'm not paying to be policed on which cloth to use, beyond reason. It's makeup, not bodily fluids. Be serious.

Further, they use cheap, scented detergent on their linens, which could cause problems for folks with sensitive skin or allergies.

The WiFi is insanely slow and unusable (I tried for basic work functions and had to switch to my mobile hotspot to send/receive emails).

If your expectations are far lower than the deceivingly great price, go for it. Personally, I'll take my chances with a 3.0-rated roach motel next time. They probably won't lose power when I'm showering at 7am and someone else is making coffee downstairs.

Edit: The photos for "proof" that I "damaged property" have backgrounds that don't come close to matching anything in the unit I rented. It will be interesting to see what happens to the reviews here when it becomes illegal to buy good ratings.

Wish I would have read the reviews before booking. It’s set up like a scam. They have me no check in information and then give you no number to call. I was sitting outside with no one to reach out to. And the place is set up like a dorm room. Then they make you pay a $50 cleaning fee after you check in. So it’s a way to get more money out of you. No tv channels either. Horrible experience. Then they make you upload your id

SCAM!!!! DO NOT BOOK!

The business takes your money from the booking online, then hits you with a hidden $50 cleaning fee upon to check-in. They will not let you check in without paying this fee, and will not refund your booking payment if you decide to back out. Like others have mentioned, this is a total trap!

Scammers.
I paid online, no one was picking up the phone during the move-in time, after 20 or so minutes they did pick up the phone and said that I did not fill out some additional paperwork, and blamed all on the super.com where I paid. They said after the paperwork they would decide if they allow me to check in. I refused to fill out the "paperwork", and they refused to give me a refund.
Their phone area code is for North Carolina as I recall.
super.com was blaming it on the business, the business was blaming it on the super.com.
My credit card refunded me.

There was a couple staying in the house during my attempt to check in, though somebody gets in there.

Great location, very clean and cosy. There was a kitchenette in our room, private bathroom and pretty comfortable bed. Super addition is 2 laundry sets (washer and dryer) on each floor. On the entry level there is common area with full kitchen and 2 computer desks with monitors.
