Beautiful building, just stunning. Staff were super nice. Bed was very comfortable. Great location right downtown just a few blocks from the falls. The one aspect of my stay not rising to the same level was the food. Had a couple staples: oatmeal for breakfast, burger for dinner. Just so so. Overall a very nice hotel.

For $425/night the quality was sub par at best.

The good: location. We were in town for a concert at the knitting factory and was right across the street. Perfect. It is also downtown in close proximity to a lot of activities. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful and historic.

The bad: room quality. The bathroom was dirty. Dust on the counters. Hair in the shower. Dirty glassware for us to use. The carpets felt like they have never been cleaned. Stains on the sheets and comforter. No refrigerator in the room.

Overall we were happy with the location being so close to why we were in town. But will not stay again for that price.

Easy check in to a beautiful and historic place. Lots of stores and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast here was very good also.
Rooms are comfy with big showers. Not our first stay and certainly not our last. Great couples getaway. I purchased a robe from the Historic Davenport a few years back and it was a very welcome gift to my wife.
Valet parking at the hotel or self parking across 1st Ave.

Our stay was fantastic. Our upgraded room was beautiful and our family’s two other rooms were perfect. Breakfast in the Palm Court was great. A special shout-out to Jacob E. For his engaging personality, enduring smile and impeccable service. We will miss him.

We've been visiting the Davenport every year for as long as I can remember for the holidays, and have always enjoyed seeing the Christmas decorations and sitting in the downstairs lobby to enjoy a peaceful evening, often with live music. This year we were shocked to discover our favorite seating area downstairs had disappeared and been replaced by a bar, which looks totally out of place. It's supposedly a 20s style bar, but looks very modern and definitely doesn't fit in with the historic ambience of the rest of the hotel. There wasn't a quiet place to sit and talk or play card games like we have in the past because the bar area was extremely loud. Apparently there are people enjoying this new feature, but it seems completely unnecessary since there is already a full bar in the restaurant, plus the peacock lounge which is nicely placed so that the loudness usually caused by drinking doesn't disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. Additionally, instead of live Christmas music which I specifically remember from last year, we were forced to endure a poorly constructed playlist of off-brand Santa music sung by people who shouldn't be allowed near a recording studio. |Housekeeping seemingly forgot about our room for the first day or two we were there, and we had to call downstairs multiple times just to get a few extra towels. The front desk staff were as friendly and accommodating as always, but didn't seem as well equipped to provide what we needed. The pillows provided were extremely flat - a marshmallow would have made a better pillow. |The pool was in much better condition than last year, but I was sad to see what I assumed to be a historic piece of artwork on the wall has sadly disappeared. |The new cafe was very nice and had a great menu. It was also really nice to see all of the ballrooms, including one or two that had been closed before.

Danielle welcomed us upon check in. She was friendly, energetic, and provided excellent customer service. The atmosphere is amazing. Our stay was wonderful. The rooms are clean. The beds are super comfortable. They have valet parking.
The staff in the peacock lounge are great. I would highly recommend the Historic Davenport Autograph Hotel. Don’t forget to get the peanut brittle in their shop before leaving.

I had high expectations for The Davenport, given its historic reputation, but unfortunately, my stay was disappointing. The hotel feels outdated and in need of refurbishment. The overall ambiance is dark and heavy, with an overwhelming presence of brown tones that make the space feel old rather than classic.

The bathroom, in particular, is not up to modern standards, feeling more like a relic of the past than a luxury experience. Despite double-glazed windows, I could still feel the wind in my room, which was surprising. Additionally, while the room was quiet, the excessive use of room spray left an artificial and overpowering scent that lingered.

On the positive side, breakfast was fine—nothing outstanding but decent. The real highlight was the staff, who were friendly and professional, doing their best to make guests feel welcome.

Overall, The Davenport needs a refresh to bring it in line with contemporary expectations. While the service is good, the outdated decor, drafty rooms, and overpowering scents make it hard to justify the premium price.

The room was lovely. The mattress is the special treat they advertised it as. I had
the misfortune of forgetting my CC at dinner, and the front desk went above and beyond to get it back. Calling in security, restaurant management, and staff searching for it. I will remember this as one of my most pleasant hotel stays ever. Well done, Davenport.
