We were very excited for our stay at Nettles farm based on the previous reviews and the website; however, our stay unfortunately fell short of those expectations.

We were expecting to spend a lot of time outside at the property, but it was neglected and overgrown (not matching the pictures online). There were no vegetables, the chickens were never let out of the coop, and the outdoor kitchen was in an uninviting state. The house itself is nice and the kitchen is well stocked. We had to request a fan and many of the windows did not have screens, which made the house a bit hot during the day.

The host, Riley, is very nice, but he forgot we were checking in that day and that we had previously requested pizza kits for both nights of our stay. He put together a pizza kit for the second night of our stay, but the dough was not made by him and it was inedible when fired in the pizza oven. Additionally, the morning of our second day he told us he would have crab and oysters for us for dinner, but at 6:20 that night he told us he wouldn't be able to get them to us. Not having food both nights was particularly difficult given the lack of food options on the island - we would have loved to have had Riley's pizza both nights as we requested given the glowing reviews other guests have given.

Overall, we were disappointed in our experience, especially based on the cost. If the farm is brought back into shape, I think it would be a much better experience for guests and staying here would be a great value. In its current state, and based on our experience, we would recommend folks look for other accommodations available on the island.

We just spent three nights at Nettles Farm (4 adults and one 3 year old) our host Riley is a super nice friendly guy. Unfortunately the property appeared to be neglected for some time, the farm had no vegetables or herbs and everything was very overgrown (nothing close to the images on the web site)The house was pretty well stocked with necessities, many of the window screens were missing so opening up the house without flys and bugs was impossible. The pizza oven and pizza kit that Riley provided was wonderful and so much fun for the adults and kids. At just over $1800 ($600 a night) we felt our $ could have been spent better elsewhere.

Nettles Farm was a dream vacation for our family. (No easy feat for 6 adults, 1 toddler, and a goldendoodle.) Riley was a fantastic, generous, and thoughtful host. Can't say any of us have spent a week at a house that comes stocked with home-roasted coffee, farm-laid eggs, bacon cured by neighbors, and herbs from the garden. Not to mention a feast of spot prawnsβ€”a rare and delicious delicacy!

Riley went out of his way to make us feel at home and show us all the magic Lummi holds. We visited beautiful beaches, walked through the forest preserves, and stocked up at the local farm stand. The island was a perfect respite for our group of citydwellers. Both Lummi and Nettles Farm are places we won't soon forget.

My partner and I just spent a long weekend at Nettles. It’s a lovely location with access to (very safe!) road biking and some small walks. The highlight for us at the farm was a the best kitchen we’ve ever had at a BnB. More appliances and options than we have at home and a fully stocked pantry! We made a pizza in the pizza oven and exchanged baked goods with the host!

Highly recommend. We will be back!

Nettle's farm is an oasis of relaxation, generous hospitality and wonderful food! We spent a birthday weekend there and enjoyed making pizza in a special oven with fresh ingredients. Riley, the owner, was delightful and showed us around his farm. He was generous with his time and with fresh ingredients. The kitchen in the farmhouse was well equipped with all that we needed to make wonderful dinners. Lummi Island is a great place to bike, hike and just get away from it all.

Magical. The Nettle farmhouse was meticulously clean, beautifully architected, and was well stocked with kitchen tools. The beach was walking distance away. Riley has a great appreciation for art and has an amazing collection of work inside the farmhouse. We were able to pick fresh spinach, enjoy fresh organic eggs from the chickens on the farm, and Riley even smoked us a salmon. Fresh coffee that Riley had roasted and Nettle farmhouse jam was incredible. Our stay at the Nettle farmhouse was unbelievably bountiful. Nettle farmhouse is the best home/inn we have ever stayed in. We will for sure be returning to the Nettle farmhouse.

Lummi Island is truly a magical place, and Nettles Farm made us feel at home. The pizza oven: so fun, the crust turned out perfect every single time. The fresh eggs from his own chickens on site, bacon, bread, yogurt, and the coffee beans (roasted by the host Riley himself) was every bit of gourmet. The kitchen is equipped probably better than our own, down to all the pantry items, spices, and condiments you'll ever need. The room and bathroom are very clean, the steam/shower is a nice touch. This is a house that was designed and built with lots of love and care. And we felt honored to have experienced and stayed there. The farm and chickens made us feel very grounded and connected to the nature. Our dog had the best time of his life, his one and only experience to be roaming free from the moment he wakes up until he passes out from exhaustion. Thank you Riley for an amazing stay, we look forward to coming back.
