We had booked the blue room for two nights at the beginning of our trip around Washington, Vancouver and Oregon (we flew in and out of Seattle), but liked so many things about the house that we booked the green room for our last night - both rooms had en suite bathrooms and were very comfortable - certainly no shortage of cushions on the beds! Melodee was a very welcoming host - as was her husband, Mike. Breakfast was freshly prepared, good quality and with plenty of choice. The little guest kitchen on the upstairs landing (small bottles of water in the fridge, together with milk for the tea and coffee, all provided - not to mention the daily supply of home-made cookies) was great. The free wifi worked well.||The location of the bed and breakfast really is ideal. There is plenty of free parking available and it is easy to walk into the centre of Seattle - or catch the bus which stops outside the house. As other reviews comment, there is a park directly opposite, and many restaurants and bars in easy walking distance (plus shops including a supermarket and pharmacy). ||||

This bed and breakfast is in a great neighborhood across from Volunteer Park, right in Capitol Hill - very scenic and quiet while still convenient to public transit. Melodee, the owner, is terrific, as she greeted us at the door and walked and talked us through the house and amenities when we arrived. The upstairs pantry is stocked with coffee, water, snacks and amazing homemade cookies at all hours. Breakfast was substantial and well prepared, with coffee, juice, toast, pastries, fruit, and oatmeal ready early for us before we had to run to the airport. The green room was spacious and quiet. My only criticism is that the linens and bath towels were worn, and occasionally smelled musty. Overall, we had a great weekend in Seattle and were very pleased with our stay at Mildred's. Thanks, Melodee!

We stayed here just this past weekend, and the bed and breakfast was charming, the room we had was bright and had a spacious bathroom. The breakfast had homemade breads and cookies, oatmeal, fruit, etc. that was very good. And the owner gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do, and was very friendly and welcoming. The location across Volunteer Park is wonderful; within walking distance to various restaurants and on a bus line that goes directly downtown. This is a great place!

Melodee and her family welcome every visitor with comfort, information, friendliness, and fabulous cookies! My husband and I stayed in the quiet and comfortable Green Room for 6 nights in mid-July. The location--directly in front of a convenient bus stop and across from the inviting Volunteer Park--was perfect for our needs. Though breakfast is essentially a continental buffet, the offerings were ample, healthy, fresh, diverse, and nonstop! Melodee offers fruit, yogurt, hot oatmeal, granola, breads, muffins, juice, coffee/tea/milk, hard-boiled eggs, jams/butter/spreads, and a different fresh-baked goodie each morning. She can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free guests. ||||An added bonus is a help-yourself "snack nook" on the second floor. It has a self-serve Keurig coffee maker with assorted pods, teas, electric kettle, corkscrew, homemade cookies and packaged snacks, a small fridge with bottled water, and guidebooks, magazines, and brochures to browse through.||||The only minus I can think of us that some of the antique furnishings--while charming--are a bit tired from use. But the important things are all there, and then some!

Stayed here for 2 nights while in Seattle. The Lace room was very spacious and the bed was super comfy! The room had its own private bath, which was not attached to the room, but it was also very spacious and has an awesome shower. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The public transportation was super easy to use, the bus drops you off right at the door and will pick you up 400' down the street, and it is only a 10 minute ride, at most, to down town. There is plenty of free parking with no time limit right in front of and across the street from the B&B. There is also wi-fi and homemade cookies!!

My husband and I stayed in the Blue Room for a week while waiting for the arrival of our newest Grandchild. Mildred's was a wonderful respite; Melodee is a hostess with the mostest, and the convenience to transit is awesome. #10 bus stops RIGHT outside the B&B, and there are walkable restaurants (and a nail salon!) just 3 blocks away. Would definitely recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First the pluses: the location is great, just across from Volunteer Park, with plenty of street parking. It's convenient to downtown, Seattle Center, the Univ. of Washington. Melodee, the owner, is very friendly and gracious. The continental breakfast is generous with cereal, toast, sweet breads, fresh fruit, yogurt. Snacks and beverages were available in the guest kitchen upstairs all day.||The minuses: The furniture in our room was tired. The mattress was fine and comfortable, but the chairs were uncomfortable and needed recovering. Throw pillows were also threadbare. The linens and towels were not very new and need to be replaced. ||What bothered us most was the noise. We expected a quiet place in a residential neighborhood. I realize that it's not the owner's fault that there is a lot of traffic on the street and plane noise overhead (they seem to be on the landing pattern for SeaTac even though it's quite a distance away), but the windows are in really poor condition so all the noise comes in. I would hate to think how cold it would be in the winter. We had to sleep with ear plugs during our entire stay.||One last minus: the living room was a mess. There were magazines piled everywhere, week old newspapers on the table. There was even a drone being recharged there during our entire visit. The living room did not appear inviting at all.||In summary, I wouldn't stay here again. But if you don't mind the minuses that I mentioned, the location and breakfast are great.

Mildreds is a great bed and breakfast. It is centrally located in Capitol Hill and close by to downtown, Pikes Place, Zoo, SpaceNeedle. The rooms are very nice.. We ||stayed in the Lace Room which had a bathroom down the hall and I wondered how||that would work as we were there for 4 nights, but it worked out fine and we really||enjoyed the house. Our room was like having a suite...||||Melendy made us feel at home and her boys were also very helpful... We had fruit|| and oatmeal and baked goods for breakfast and there was assortments of cheese and meat, toast, English Muffin. Everything was soo fresh and good.||||The only thing that could be upgraded in the Lace Room were the pillows. They were|| bit flat but the bed was comfy and the house was beautiful....||||There was a small fridge upstairs which they kept stocked with water which was||great for taking water for our day of sightseeing in Seattle.||||When we return to Seattle, we would love to stay there again... We only had 1 day ||of showers and we were there 9/16 to 9/19 which was a great time to visit Seattle. ||||Thanks Melendy - Mary Ann and Dave
