Fun to cross country ski in winter and mountain bike in summer. Stayed in it for 3 or 2 days it has the best breakfast I ever had in a hotel. Has a pool and a hot tub. Also has a game room with a pool table. The view is beautiful. The beds are so comfortable and the room is pretty clean, comfortable, and big. And it made the whole experience even better. The service is great. I recommend it to everyone. If go there please put this hotel on number one

Allergy alert! Berry allergy. The breakfast dining room was quiet so I could hear our wonderful hostess educate the kitchen staff TWICE no red berries! None of that! Raspberries will send me to the hospital. 20 minutes after bringing my family’s to-go order back to our room and digging in, the dining room called to warn me the two condiment containers were raspberry jam! Fortunately, I know to stay away from red, otherwise it would have been way too late. ||Also, terrible shower. Time for a new shower head and a full door so water stays put.|All that said, still giving four stars:||--All staff were super helpful and super nice to talk to.|--RJ in the dining room, and his fiancé whose name I didn’t get, were both just amazing. They deserve raises and promotions. RJ’s meal suggestions were spot on.|--Whoever the chef was the night of Friday 4/11 makes some of the best pasta I’ve ever tasted. The cheeseburger the night before was also delicious. And that thyme ice cream was amazing. All RJ suggestions.|--We are beginner level hikers. Whoever marked the trails and created the legend also needs a raise and a promotion. The lakeview trail was perfect for us, so easy to follow and amazing views.|--The property was just beautiful and clearly well cared for.|--Finally, the communication throughout was impressive. It was the off season, we knew what we were getting into, and loved every minute. Perfect time to go, it was like we had the place to ourselves even though we didn’t!

We spend two nights at the cabins at Patterson Lake, owned by Sun Mountain Lodge. I must say the experience was excellent. There were a few problems to begin with, but all were solved immediately. They brought me a new coffee maker, a new hot water kettle, and fixed the fireplace. The restaurant was also excellent. Dinner on the 1st evening was exceptionally good, and the service was fantastic. Breakfast, it was rather slow, took 40 minutes for us to get our food. However, the waitress said it was on the house and was very apologetic. The next day, the waitress recognized us. It was on time, and the food again was fantastic. I must say that their breakfast is reasonably priced and one of the best that I can remember. The reason why I'm giving it five stars is because, although there were problems, they solved them right away and willingly. I can't remember the last time I had such great service.

Great resort! Our first time at Sun Mountain after wanting to come for quite some time. Wonderful staff, good food, beautiful setting. We travel a lot and stay in some very nice places and wow- I cannot understand the negative reviews. We stayed in the cabins and they were so cute! Well appointed and had everything we needed. Our dogs loved walking along the well groomed paths and the lighting at night along the pathways was very nice. Dining room food was great. We all had the filet. Burgers in the bar were very good. The man who helped us get set up for X-country skiing was so nice and helpful. He gave us a map and suggested a beginner loop. We all had so much fun that we decided to try more intermediate trails and skied all day. We loved watching the ice fishermen from our cabin porch. They were all catching a lot of fish. Will definitely be back next year and maybe over the summer.

We’ve been staying at sun mountain lodge for a few years and enjoy our trip every time. The rooms are well appointed and the staff is accommodating. There are some disappointing things that happen every stay such as rooms missing robes and for whatever reason there are always icy walking paths (it snows a lot there, but they should be on top of it). Bring your own food because the on site restaurant is not very good. Despite these small issues, we will keep coming back to
Sun mountain lodge, it is an exceptional location and a good experience every time.

I cannot recommend this hotel to members of my community, as the staff’s behavior made the environment feel unwelcoming and unsafe.

To start with the positives, the room was amazing, and the overall location is great. However, the unprofessionalism and poor service from certain staff members completely overshadowed my stay. My first interaction at reception with two female receptionists and what seemed to be a maintenance worker was horrific. Instead of being greeted professionally, I was met with snickering and exchanged looks, as if I were the subject of a joke. This immediately set a negative tone for the weekend. The male receptionist, however, was great—professional and courteous in every interaction.

The restaurant experience was equally disappointing on the evening of 3/15. While most of my dining experiences were fine, one particular server blatantly ignored my table for nearly 20 minutes while chatting with other staff members. Meanwhile, she actively served other tables. When she finally did engage with us, her demeanor was cold and distant, in stark contrast to the laughter and friendliness she openly shared with a nearby group. Her loud interactions with that group disrupted what should have been a peaceful dining experience.

As a gay man, I would strongly caution others in my community against staying here. While there were no outright threats, the combination of subtle yet persistent dismissiveness, unprofessional behavior, and exclusionary service made it clear that I was not welcomed in the same way as other guests. It’s disheartening to have spent money on an establishment that fosters such an environment.

We stayed through a Christmas snow storm. The accommodations were epic. The staff is professional to a fault and beyond kind. The ski shop will get you ready for a best ever, X-Country ski day. Oh by the way, some of the best trails the country has to offer.
Dinner and other meals are served with a five star attitude and taste to boot!

The facility is in a wonderful remote spot with outstanding views of mountains on all sides. There are loads of activities available for the family- horses, swimming, hiking, and an indoor game room for kids. The restaurant was very good, again with the views being the best part of the meal. Our stay was hampered only by lots of smoke in the air from nearby fires which made swimming not so great and horse back riding out of the question.
