I have recently begun to make monthly trips to Yakima. I do not enjoy these trips. Hence the dings on the location. I just don’t enjoy Yakima.

Because of this, it is super important that my hotel be homey. I don’t get the basic room. I get a suite with a full kitchen. If I could, I would live in one of these suites. 3 comfortable queen beds (1 is a European style Murphy bed), a full kitchen with EVERYTHING you need to prepare a meal (pots, pans, plates, and utensils—you do need to provide your own food). It’s almost like a 2/1. There’s even a patio or balcony.

Is it the Waldorf-Astoria? No. But, it is super comfortable, family friendly, pet friendly and it feels like home away from home.

Also, breakfast isn’t basic. You get made to order omelets and eggs. There’s also other heated items, like roasted potatoes and make-your-own waffles, but you really wouldn’t expect that level of service from a hotel that isn’t considered 5-star.

I stayed here for the NWM women’s conference and it was a great stay. The rooms were clean, not weird odors or dirty sheets. What I really loved about this place is they have scripture in Hebrew throughout the building and you can see that this is a place where the Lord is present. Overall it was a great place to stay. One thing to note is that the pool Is outdoors.

I booked a room through booking.com that prominently said “free cancellation” in the headline on the search results and on the listing page after I clicked on it. I chose it specifically because it said free cancellation and we were only going to need the room if our high school basketball team won their game at the state tournament and would be playing again the next day. The team lost so I called to cancel the room and they said I need to call booking.com, so I did and they said it had to be canceled by the hotel, so I called the hotel and politely explained the situation to the girl who answered the phone, she said she had to talk to the manager and left me on hold for over 30 minutes. I hung up and called back and the same girl answered and said they would not cancel the room and that the confirmation email I received after booking the room explained that there was no cancellation and I’d be billed for the full room charge. I asked to speak to the manager but she simply said that was not possible, said goodbye, and hung up.
We go to Yakima regularly for kids sports events and I’m sure as hell never staying at this place. This was literally one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve stayed at a lot of Best Westerns and they’ve always been friendly and reliable but apparently this one is the exception. I would’ve happily paid a $20 or $50 cancellation fee or whatever and everything would’ve been fine, but now I have to call me credit card company and dispute the charge.

Absolutely wonderful!
The hotel is older BUT the personal touches, the quotes, the staff, the decor ... they are all very much appreciated! I normally stay in Hilton and Marriott hotels...they have no personality ... this place breaks the mold!
I travel for work and normally blast straight through Yakima and stay elsewhere....no longer. This will be my new home on the road.

The location is convenient, and the staff was very polite. Breakfast was missing in good options. I wonder if they started bringing the food out too late that day or if that was just the standard. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the bedding sheets smelled like they had been used before. The parking lot had plenty of parking spots. It was cheap, though, so we got what we paid for.

Thin walls but the breakfast and staff make up for it. Traveled to 29 states last year and this was hands down the best breakfast. Not just the food selection but the amazing staff that starts your day the right way.

I'm a consultant who does work in the immediate vicinity for 8 years. I've spent close to a hundred nights at Ahtanum Inn and their services and friendliness is unmatched. I have always found the rooms to be clean and well above average. The suites are large and functional and help make being away from family that much tolerable. The great and courtyard are very enjoyable in the warm months. Thanks Ahtunam Inn!

Warm, clean, welcoming. Omelets made to order in the morning and a beautifully decorated lobby. It felt like home. Safe area near Hobby Lobby and Cabelas and other fun shopping. Everything about this place, including the staff, communicated they are glad you are staying.
