Our first time staying at this beautiful Inn was 7 years ago and we absolutely loved Sandra, who is so welcoming, and the comfort we felt at the Inn. The multiple sitting rooms are so beautiful to enjoy tea, conversation, or cosy up with a blanket in front of a warm fire.||Since then, we’ve talked about returning, and with our anniversary this month, everything fell into place to return. Our recent visit was just as wonderful as before. Sandra personalizes and put so much care into all the little details…names on a placeholder outside our room, a personal note written in an anniversary card with chocolates and candles, everything you could possible need for toiletries and even earplugs if the occasional train wakes you up.||Breakfast is served at 9:00 around one family table, but coffee and scones are out by 7:00. We LOVE the gathering at the table and both visits have felt warm and inviting, walking away with a feeling of treasured connections.||As Goshen is a small town in a beautiful setting, there is so much to do within a 30 minute drive…Lexington and Warm Springs (a beautiful small town and the Omni Homestead- a must do is the healing baths!). 1 hr away is the beautiful Falling Springs Falls, Humpback covered bridge, and the Greenbrier Resort.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at the Hummingbird Inn. We had no idea what to expect and really needed a comfortable place to land in Goshen and the surrounding areas. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed and were made to feel at home. We were continuously joyfully surprised by all of the thoughtful touches all throughout both of our rooms and the house itself. Everything was impeccable and the daily breakfast was inspired and delicious, down to the excellent coffee. The house is right next to train tracks and has a history connected with the railroad. So you might hear one or two long freight trains going past at night. I personally enjoyed listening to the rhythmic sounds of the the trains going over the tracks. I would highly recommend staying at the Hummingbird Inn and if we go back to that area we will definitely stay there again.

Great place and the best people that you may ever meet. Welcomed in just like family and very relaxing. They made our wedding the most pleasant experience and the local gals that did my brides hair, makeup and photos knocked it out the park. Breakfast with the other guest made for some good conversations with a fine filling|meal.

Everything about the Hummingbird Inn was outstanding. From the moment we arrived Sandra greeted us and provided interesting details about the inn and its beautiful rooms. This inn has a great deal of history and the rooms have been preserved to reflect that with a decorative eye to detail and exquisite craftsmanship. The grounds are peaceful and there is plenty of outdoor space to relax in a garden setting. The room had extremely soft linens and anything you needed. Breakfast was delicious . Lots of little gestures like fresh cookies and candy dishes that made us feel welcome like we were visiting a friend. Definitely a excellent place to stay.

What a little piece of paradise. My husband and I rented the cabin for the weekend of our 20th anniversary. There was a lovely anniversary card in our cabin along with a happy anniversary sign on the chalkboard greeting. Behind the cabin was a stream that provided a lovely sound with the windows open. The room was so comfortable, just perfect.
Then came breakfast. I am dairy free and gluten free and Sandra made me special scones and other wonderful items. The breakfast was several courses of gourmet food that were all amazing and healthy.

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hummingbird Inn in Goshen, Virginia, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home.

The Inn itself is a beautifully restored historic building, with charming, well-appointed rooms that offer both comfort and character. We stayed in the Eleanore Roosevelt room, which was cozy and filled with thoughtful touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room had all the modern amenities we needed while maintaining a classic, charming atmosphere.

One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious breakfast, which was prepared fresh each morning. The food was locally sourced and lovingly prepared, offering a delightful start to the day. We particularly enjoyed the oatmeal crème brûlée — it was absolutely delicious!

The grounds of the Inn are equally enchanting, with peaceful gardens and quiet spots to relax. We made frequent use of the second floor veranda with its views overlooking the gardens, barn and gazebo. The gazebo proved itself a romantic after dinner hideaway where we could relax and enjoy the sounds of the creek and cozy up to a wood burning fire pit.

The surrounding area of Goshen provides plenty of opportunities for hiking, exploring, or simply enjoying the tranquility of nature. The Innkeepers, Sandra and Jeff, were wonderful in providing recommendations for local activities and dining options, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat in the Virginia countryside, this Bed and Breakfast is a true gem. We look forward to returning for another relaxing stay!

Recently ,I took a trip to Virginia. I spent 3 days at the HUMMINGBIRD INN BED AND BREAKFAST. SANDRA AND JEFF were absolutely wonderful. The rooms were big, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was to die for. All food was made right in their kitchen with love. Sandra is a wealth of information if one wants to know History about the area. HUMMINGBRID INN should be the place anyone going to GOSHEN VIRGINIA should visit.
