The Inn is rustic and charming. The bed was very comfortable. Hot coffee and a friendly smile awaited us in the morning along with a hot breakfast. The Inn Keeper knows a lot of history about the Inn and is happy to share with you. The country side is beautiful. We will be returning. I prefer the charm of historic inns.

Ed, the Innkeeper was full of great stories that we enjoyed. We never saw Ellen in the days we were there. The history is very interesting, however, there are issues. The breakfast was just ok. We felt it was pre-made, no juice just coffee & water. The rooms need major updating. Our shower had just a pipe coming out of the wall, there was no shower head. The carpet had so many stains that we didn't walk barefoot, it needs to be replaced right away. The worst was lots of bugs in the room & bathroom. |

We have stayed at the Inn for years and always enjoy it. The Inn is full of rustic charm and history. It isn't luxurious but has all the comforts needed. We love being right on the river and bring kayaks and fly rods. It feels like home to us.

We had a relaxing romantic weekend at The Inn at Narrow Passage. Our room was private, inviting and well appointed. Our four-poster canopy bed was quite comfortable. We enjoyed watching the wildlife across the beautiful wooded grounds while sitting on our balcony. Connecting with nature walking along the woods, braving the suspension bridge and spotting trout in the nearby river. Easy access to restaurants and antique shops nearby. Ed made us feel very welcome (even taking a break from his birthday party to check us in) and treated us to tasty breakfasts (fruit, fresh baked goods, perfectly cooked eggs and bacon). We look forward to returning and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at this rustic Inn while visiting friends in Woodstock. The place dates from 1740, and while it now boasts all the modern conveniences, it has maintained its ambiance as a place where weary travelers of yore would stop to sped the night and have a cup of ale. The owner, Ed, is ready at your beck and call to make your stay both memorable and pleasant. He can regale you with many stories about the place and its many interesting guests. In the morning he welcomes you to the dining room with a cup of hot coffee and then a plate of French toast with warm maple syrup. The Inn is a wonderful hideaway nestled by a creek with lots of chairs, swings, and benches where you can sit and relax with a good book or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We had a most pleasant stay.

What a wonderful step back in time! The Inn at Narrow Passage did not disappoint. The host, Ed was so kind and accommodating. We came with a truck and trailer and he was kind enough to help us park when we arrived as the parking lot is not very large. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the modern amenities the Inn had to offer, down to a multiport USB charger, while maintaining its historic charm. The breakfasts were phenomenal. Made fresh, no buffet and delicious fresh fruit. We were only there for two nights, but had the most wonderful, relaxing time. We will definitely return, as a destination or if we are just passing through for one night. Thank you so much Ed and Ellen for being such great hosts. We can’t wait to see you again!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Inn at Narrow Passage. It is filled with nearly 300 years of history, and Ed--the innkeeper--was full of stories to share about the inn's history and things to do in the surrounding area. The property was well-maintained, spotless, and beautiful, and Ed was hospitable and delightful. My wife and I travel as often and have stayed in many B&B's around the world over the years; it is our preferred style of coding. We've been blessed to stay in many wonderful B&B's in a host of delightful areas, and must say that the Inn at Narrow Passage ranks highly. ||The breakfast was quite good and filling, the conversation congenial, the Inn's architecture quite special, and the grounds impeccably maintained. Ed tended to our every need without being intrusive. ||We highly recommend this place and hope to stay again in the future.

Had a relaxing weekend at the Inn at Narrow Passage. The Inn is a piece of history itself. Built as a Wagon-stop in the 1740s, it still retains its rustic old country feel and yet the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The innkeeper Ed and his wife Eileen were keen to explain the history of the house and point out the historically accurate restorations to us. Behind the inn, flows the Shenandoah river with its historical hanging bridge. A scenic drive takes you to the Shenandoah National Park with it’s amazing trails and the Skyline Drive. Multiple wineries offering wine tasting dots the area. Perfect for a enjoyable weekend away from everything and still close to so many things to experience!
