I greatly appreciated my two night stay at this hotel! The beds were extremely comfortable, and the staff were all friendly. I met one woman in particular down at the restaurant. Her name was Lisa. She was so kind, funny welcoming! Best conversation to be had with her! Thank you Lisa for making my stay even more enjoyable! LOVE YOU LISA!! 🙂

Positive: The staff and everyone we encountered in the hotel was very pleasant and pretty much everyone looked you in the eye and said "hello", "good morning". Negative: They do not have a continental breakfast. They do charge you to park at their hotel, which I have never heard of for a guest. The hotel is very outdated and needs renovation. There aren't an exhaust fans in the bathroom.

Stay somewhere else. Our first room had a funky smell upon entering. We just assumed that's just how the room smelled... we'll deal with the funky smell. The next morning there was a leak in the shower of sewer fluids leaking into the shower and in the hallway adjacent to our bathroom. *Found the smell....

We informed the front desk and they said it would be over an hour before they could get us another room which didn't work because we needed to shower and leave for a baseball game.

They put us in a handicap accessible room where the A/C barely worked and the tv had to be replaced *which still didn't fix the problem. Parking is $15.00 a night which wasn't mentioned when we booked the hotel.

At 11:20pm the last night we were there we received a phone call asking if we ordered food. (We did not.) Then they proceeded to call our cell phones regarding the food being delivered.

The entire experience here was not the best which is frustrating because we typically stay at Hilton hotels when we travel. With all these troubles we were given 1 night reimbursed which is pretty ridiculous. Overall opinion....don't stay here.

Positive: Close to the airport, complementary airport shuttle, comfy beds Negative: The airport shuttle did not have enough departure times and I had to leave much earlier for the airport than I would have liked. One side of the dual coffee maker was broken. The complementary water dispensers in the lobby were empty.

We are on an extended stay following my husband's liver transplant and EVERYONE has been incredibly helpful. Our room has been thoroughly cleaned, the young man (Shaund) who transported us for the follow up appointment and back was great! Honestly, this hotel beats the Marriott Courtyard 1000% we stayed there for nearly a week and our room was NEVER serviced, I won't make that mistake twice!

The rooms are comfortable, and we had a nice view of Bham. A microwave would have been a welcome addition to the room since we stayed 2 weeks following discharge from UAB. The Lab restaurant needs to improve in many areas: rap music played loud during breakfast, service is slow (even with few patrons), and the food was not good. Husband's soup was barely warm.
Bham has a problem with street racing and every evening we heard loud motors roaring for hours. Not a restful environment for people recovering from surgery. When I complained to the front desk they acted like they never knew anything about it.
The parking deck was conveniently attached to the hotel. We appreciated the shuttle service to Kirklin Clinic. The driver was always friendly.
Rodney, at the Starbucks located in the lobby was efficient and friendly.

Newly renovated, nice lobby area with a coffee area. I stay here frequently when I visit the area. Nice and courteous service, friendly staff at check-in, helping quickly and efficiently, acknowledging and valuing frequent customers of the brand, taking the extra step to make you feel welcome. No hassle when I asked to have a late check-out. Rooms are spacious, clean. I recommend and will be back on my next trip to the area

Don't forget, if you're a diamond member and want to save $35 by booking through a third party, you will NOT be acknowledged as a diamond member. Can't even get the permium WiFi. So in reality, I'm paying for my Kirkland water bottle, bag of Skittles, and slightly better WiFi everytime I book through the Hilton app instead of a third party. Not really sure how that counts as free benefits for Hilton honors members. Walked into the room and almost slipped as I skidded across the floor (in shoes) due to a slick/wet/greasy (who knows) floor. The next morning, bare foot, still greasy/moist/wet, very unpleasant and dangerous. Fridge wasn't cold enough. No knob on the inside to make it colder. Used a chair to keep the shades closed after I was woken up by the sunrise. Keurig machine in the room, but no kcups, just the other coffee brand that doesn't work in a Keurig machine. Called the front desk at night to get some kcups for the morning. No one came at night, and no one came in the morning. No coffee for me in my room after my shower, which was pretty low pressure for the quality of shower head. Pretty gross ac unit. When was the last time that was cleaned? At least the AC was cold. Solid bed and good pillows.
