This spot is actually pretty cool. I usually visit the Lakeport area every so often to visit family. And these tasting rooms have been popping up in the past recently years. I saw this place last time I visited but didn’t have a chance to stop by until this time. I loved their wine.. I’m not a wine snob but know a little bit about wine and their stuff is good even the red dry wines.. bartender was nice he participated in our conversation about life. 😂 if I had more time I would of stayed longer that just two glasses of wine.

Visited for the first time recently. The ambiance and venue is very nice. Their tastings are $20 for four small pours, and they also have glasses for around $12. I have been to some small wineries in the area where tastings are free, so be mindful that this place is more in line with Napa wineries or with a bar/restaurant. I enjoyed all the wines, nothing super standout, but enjoyable, and there was good service when sitting at the bar. Also got to browse a small but cute farmer's market out front on Saturday mornings that ends at 1pm. They didn't seem to have food around lunchtime but have popups on some evenings, so we went for lunch elsewhere.

This place is a scam. Nice grounds, beautiful atmosphere but service is poor and you don’t receive what you are promised. I became a wine club member here after my first visit. One of the very few features of their wine club membership is “complimentary tastings for 2.”

I came back to visit a month or so after signing up to be a member with the intention of utilizing my 2 complimentary tastings and also purchasing some canned wine. To my dismay, I was told “we cannot honor your free tastings under your wine club membership because we are serving pizza”.

When I asked how serving pizza could influence my free wine club tastings I was told “we don’t do tastings during our events because we get too busy but if you came in earlier today you could have received your free tastings”

One of the main benefits of becoming a member is being able to visit from time to time and receive the free tastings. The fact that they don’t serve wine club tastings during events is an absolute scam and poor service. Keep in mind they seem to have events regularly during the week. One has to ask “when do we actually get to receive this wine club benefit”?

We cancelled our membership on the spot and definitely won’t be returning. Usually when you become a wine club member at a winery you are treated a bit better and get some perks. None of these things apply to the Mercantile. Place is a scam. Don’t waste your time.

Good wines, my favorites were the Wrangler Red and the Rosé. The staff was very friendly, and the tasting room and grounds are beautiful.
We loved it so much we became wine club members.

A new and completely beautiful spot to sample the Shannon family wines which are delicious, affordable and award winning. The newly renovated building is gorgeous, comfortable and welcoming. A large selection gourmet items are available to enjoy on-site or to go. The Shannon family are real farmers- they raise lamb, which is available for sale- the chop were perfection when grilled. The staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful-no Napa attitude at this place.

I have been a member here for several years. The service is excellent even when there are events. There are so many great options for wine, nonalcoholic drinks, and amazing snacks. Most evenings you can find fun events like taco Tuesday, pizza Friday, and a Saturday morning farmers market! It's a family and dog friendly spot. You'd be hard pressed to find another conveniently located winery with such wonderful amenities!

The Mercantile is a new fresh take on the outdoor wine n relax venue. Amazing wines, cheeses, snacks & appetizers are readily available for purchase. Cute home decor is also available. The Funky Dozen was Fun, Energetic and a True Crowd pleaser! The dance floor was packed and the lawn area was full.
Jack Voss is a great manager and Laural was very helpful as well.
Pleased to see this new addition.

I would like to say that this is our favorite place to be! We come at least 3-4 times a week! The staff, the wine, food vendors, and ambiance. Today (4/25) was Toasty Thursday and I have to say that Molly did an amazing job! She was upbeat and very attentive! She did a fabulous job! Christina also does a great job on Thursdays she is always welcoming and sweet! We really enjoy coming on Thursdays because the food and the service is awesome! Thank you for a wonderful place to be in Lake County!
