We went to Thunder Valley Cafe for Thanksgiving. I had the prime rib and a friend had the turkey dinner. Both were fabulous! I was so surprised the food was so good. And so was the service. After we finished our holiday meal, I won $600 on a slot machine! In the non-smoking section of the casino. Yes they have a separate gambling room for non-smokers.

This is our first time visiting the Thunder Cafe and we chose wisely. The restaurant was clean . Our server Edward was by far the best of any server we’ve ever had. He was knowledgeable about the menu and sold us on the Prime Rib. “Served Only after 2pm”. We ordered 2 ,10oz & 1,16oz Prime Rib Steaks with Mixed Vegetables& Baked Potatoes. Oh my goodness the steak cut like butter and seasoned well.
We will be back and request Edward.
Hats off to the kitchen staff.

It doesn’t accept reservation but service is quick. We came here for the show at the venue on Friday night. Bakery at the counter looked delightful. Sever and food runners were attentive. Fried zucchini were freshly made. I’ll recommended.

Thunder Cafe is located in the Thunder Valley Casino Resort. We settled for eating here because The Buffet is CLOSED. Casino staff stated The Buffet closed in March 2024. Oh, we were disappointed. Anyway, we tried Thunder Cafe. The atmosphere was nice. Our server was friendly. My husband ate the blackened salmon with Jasmine rice and vegetables. I ate the firecracker shrimp with Jasmine rice and vegetables. Husband stated the salmon was good. He doesn’t say too much so choose the salmon dish at your own risk. 😬

There was nothing firecracker about the firecracker shrimp. If you looking for spicy firecracker shrimp go to the Panda Express at the food court in the casino. The Jasmine rice and vegetables were good. The shrimp was covered in a creamy yellow sauce that tastes a little like sweet chili sauce added to it. Not quite sure.

The little sweet shop in the front of the cafe is delightful. The red velvet cake covered in chocolate is the best. 😋

I always love dining at thunder Cafe it's 24/7 and the service is always great whatever time you decide to dine in at 12pm or 3am in the morning. I go here when I lose all my money and feel better when I eat lol I had great service from the waiter Edward emeseralda I think I spell the last name wrong. 😅 sorry for not a bigger tip but decided to give you great review on Google hope this helps out

Food has definitely gone down hill. One of my favorite items on the menu is the biscuits and gravy. They used to have an adequate amount of gravy on them. It doesn't even cover the biscuit now. I thought it might be a one off thing or maybe it was due to the chef. I ordered it again the next day and it's the same...Their pasta is just microwaved lol. They don't even cook it. How do I know this. There is water dripping on the plate. Most likely ice from thawing out in a microwave. I've tried every single plate on the menu and their rotating plates. Their fish tacos are a lol. Better off catching your own fish to make them. They have this off putting taste on the fish who knows how long it's been in a freezer. Their steak is probably the only safe bet that and the salmon then again their salmon is probably farmed. They really need to revamp their entire menu. Casinos in Reno anything you order on the menu and it's top quality food. Totally shames this place in the quality of food they are serving. I think I've had better food on a train or plane than here which is pretty sad.
