If you plan to visit Henry Cowell redwoods State Park or the Big Basin, consider staying at this magical space with its extraordinary host, the one and only Masood Khan! The room look really well maintained and the amenities are really good. The place itself is surrounded by some old redwood. You get access to the Creek and a chance to swim with the ducks! It was an ideal stay. We originally stayed one night where we had to extend to two nights because why not when YOLO. This spot is going to be my go to whenever I'm in those mountains. Thank you for hosting us!

AWFUL- NEVER AGAIN! The prices were very high - $250 a night - the cabin was very cold - and when we asked for fire wood we were told tht we had to provide our own fire wood. There are much more affordable accomodations close by. We have had very good experiences booking on VRBO - this was the exception.

Spiders everywhere! I mean, literally crawling on the ground and covering the ceiling above the bed and toilet. I didn’t sleep and instead drank caffeine all night while watching my dogs like a hawk so no spiders crawled on them. I didn’t dare use the shower as the bathroom was just unclean and unapproachable. Poison oak all around the river which is a shame since it’s quite beautiful. Nice quiet lot and peaceful town, however not worth the discomfort.

Awesome location. Reasonable price. Rustic but overall quite nice room. The grounds are a bit trailer parkish, but rustic, and the redwoods were very beautiful! I would have given it a four star rating, MAYBE a five star rating, but my wife was REPULSED by one of the beds smelling heavily of vomit or ?!!!
I have no sense of smell, and my wife did not report it to the host, so I do not know if the host would have been responsive or what he could have done about it.
I found the place quite charming.

THIS PLACE DESERVES NEGATIVE STARS. DO NOT BOOK HERE. |I booked this property a year in advance because we were going to be there for work and it was a holiday weekend. We arrived in the afternoon to check in and they did not have a room for us. This was pretty catastrophic as we were going back to work that night and did not have a place to take a shower and change after being in 100 degree weather all day working. The host was not helpful. Instead of trying to assist us in finding a room, he kept interrupting us when we were making calls to other lodging and shoving his phone in our face trying to say it was not his fault. He then handed me his phone after calling his website/booking tech person, and that jerk just kept saying it was not their fault. NONE of this was helpful and ultimately IT IS THEIR FAULT because they took my booking, took my money, and did not provide a room. All I was interested in at that point in time was finding us a room within a reasonable distance from our job site and getting my money refunded. We found a room that added 30 minutes to our drive, cost more money due to late booking and it being a holiday weekend, and I am still waiting for a refund that the owner promised to do that night, July 5th. I have had to resort to wasting even more of time contacting VRBO to assist with getting my money from this horrible host. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK this property or just keep in mind that you may be sleeping in your car or pack a tent to sleep in the woods, just in case.

Masood's Lodge is far from a lodge. More like a motel, it offered little comfort. The constant barking from a nearby dog made sleep impossible. The overall atmosphere was far from relaxing. While it might serve as a basic stopover, it's definitely not a holiday destination. We were eager to leave and find a more suitable accommodation.

Super kind, responsive ownership. Clean and cute cabins that can potentially sleep 5. Dog friendly. The river right next to it is beautiful. You can walk to a nice restaurant in under 90 seconds and to a nice grocery store and gas station in under three minutes. The cabin was very clean with nice furniture.

This isn't so much a complaint as it is a suggestion: the showers are very dark and can be a challenge for people that don't have the best vision. Perhaps a battery powered LED light installed in the shower would help

This place is absolutely disgusting.

We were greeted with being informed that the room we had booked was “the wrong one” and “they couldn’t change the picture” on the booking site and they promptly showed us to our RV.

We had no issue with this, tiny homes are something we’re looking to invest in and this seemed like a nice look into what staying in one would be like.

There are multiple cobwebs in the bathroom, we were given 2 old unfolded towels for a group of 4, and the worst part. MUSHROOMS.

I cannot stress this enough. There is a LIVING mushroom GROWING FROM THE CARPET. There were mushrooms underneath the dining areas seats. My party and I were stupid and got confused as to which couch we needed to take apart. We were greeted by a huge, healthy mushroom under the seat. It also filled the room with an odor after we put the seat back together.

It is also generally dirty with food wrappers and half eaten snack under the easily movable furniture. Everything else was manageable I guess because we’re in the redwoods, however the mushroom IN THE RV completely shook us to our core. We will be sleeping in the car.
