My stay at Paradox Hotel was exceptional, especially considering the price. The rooms are fabulous, and I have no complaints. The cleanliness and overall style of the accommodations were outstanding. Please note that there is a $28 parking fee per night, so be sure to factor that into your budget. However, I would choose this hotel over any others I've stayed at in Santa Cruz for the complete vacation experience. Highly recommended!

Stayed here on a family road trip for Spring break. The surrounding location is a little bit sketchy. The hotel itself was very safe. But, otherwise, our stay was wonderful. The room was updated and beds were comfortable. The lobby was beautifully decorated.
We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was filling & delicious. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant.
We walked to the boardwalk and it took about 20 minutes, leisurely. Of note, the boardwalk is closed during weekdays.
We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is a super upgraded motel. Decor is very classy and modern. Perfect if you have a dog or two. Bed is comfortable. Down stairs rooms have nice patios. Pool and jacuzzi area is awesome. Lobby is nice to hang out in. Negatives rooms are a bit small my husband is a large guy, next time we would book the suite or stay elsewhere. For an autograph not at bar or above the bar, slightly less than you expect. They could have a microwave if they want to be a motel type. If the want to be more upper class they need better coffee maker - nesspresso or hamilton or other better coffee and tea. Shampoos /soap is very nice. So overall it is a mix. We moved to a hotel with all suites in monterey . Enjoy!!!

Having stayed at this property for a number of years, it's sad to see them cutting corners in so many ways. Gone are the Illy coffee makers... so nice to have REALLY good in room coffee in the morning! And with the menu change, it's obvious the chef is gone, replaced by the line cooks and a mediocre menu offering at best. I still enjoy the ability to check out one of the on loan guitars and the property itself is a well-designed throwback that is clean and well located in a quiet but close to downtown location.

My husband & I had a wonderful stay here while taking a break from visiting relatives in the Bay Area. We will stay there again if we are in the area.

We loved the pool and jacuzzi, fire pit and the hotel bar and lounge area. Nice extras like the filtered water station were much appreciated. We enjoyed the decor which uses reclaimed wood and has beautiful wood coffee tables and benches. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant to interact with. I recommend staying here given our positive experience

This place is awesome and room rates are fare, unlike most places these days. The staff here is super friendly including the receptionist Christian who made us feel super welcome at check in and the bartender Chris who was super cool and let us hang out until the bar closed down. The pool area is right next to the bar and gives off great vibes. We will be back here again for sure. Thank you!

The hotel is beautifully designed and it’s in a convenient location. It’s almost a 4 star hotel but misses the mark. We booked a suite a month in advance and we got here just to find they didn’t actually hold a suite for us which was very disappointing - we ended up only staying part of the stay. They put us in a tiny loud room facing the parking lot… and I had to specially ask them to refund the suite rate. The typical rooms are decent design but very small. It’s also pretty loud / thin walls. There are nice big windows but people walked by our room constantly so we kept the blinds shut. There’s a beautiful pool area and lounge, the overall aesthetic is nice but it’s really a 3 star hotel with some upgraded design. WiFi is pretty slow so we left in fear we couldn’t work from the room.

*I will amend my review to say that upon checkout the front desk was very understanding and did end up adjusting my rate / acknowledging the issues.

I had an incredible experience staying at this hotel! The rooms were absolutely perfect, easily comparable to a five star standard, with every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort and luxury. The food was delicious, and the service exceeded all expectations.

A special shoutout to the bartender, Rainbow, who truly made my stay unforgettable. Their amazing service, friendly personality, and talent behind the bar added such a vibrant touch to my experience.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch accommodations, excellent dining, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!
