The burger was very decently sized. There was a language barrier that prevented me from understanding what the lady was trying to say about the special. The drive-thru menu said $5.99 for a double cheese, I did send up getting the meal, which jumped the price up to more than I thought it should have been. Almost $26 for a meal. Granted, I did get a shake, which was $7, and onion rings, then a tip, which I thought was a little bit off since I wasn't dining in. All in all, the food was very good and I would go there again.

BBQ chicken sandwich was delicious. The waitress was outstanding. Must try a banana split. Everything was excellent.

You can actually taste the freshness. And the aguas frescas come in these large jars. I couldn’t finish my food or drink, they were good sized portions. Don’t go to IHOP or Denny’s. Go to Roy’s Cafe and get your money’s worth. The Mexican music is a nice touch as well.

We swung by here on our way to Vegas. The cafe is a bit run down, but not terrible. The food is definitely the highlight. My husband got the BLT and I got the pastrami sandwich. Our kids got shakes.
The BLT was fresh and great. The pastrami sandwich was amazing, with grilled pastrami and onions, plenty of Thousand Island, and lettuce/pickles. The shakes are handmade and delicious. Their specialty shakes are off the hook, one coming with a full slice of cheesecake on top of it.
Our server was nice, but not terribly personable. Definitely recommend!

Upfront some bias. The service is always pleasant and Barstow has this weird service culture where everyone is nicer than you’d expect. So service is an easy win.

Atmosphere: very road time cafe. It’s what Sonic wishes it could have. And when you think that Roy’s burgers costs around a Burger King meal, you’d be thinking they’re actively losing money.

Now to the part people actually read. My bad for playing the reverse Uno card. This is the second time I’ve been here. And it’s equally as delicious. Here for dinner on either a weekend or weeknight, it hits the spot. The burgers are delicious. Very much a smash burger but actually had the home-style taste that you can’t make at home. Most impressively were the onions. Odd thing to pick, but they were surprisingly fresh. Like cry as I bite into them fresh, which tells me they know how to manage their produce. The butter bread was super satisfying and I felt almost too full to finish my hash browns.

But I’d come here, and brought people here, for the shakes. The pictures on the dessert menu look like the actual food. Almost doesn’t do it justice, which is fine since they’re below. Very very rich and heavy. Just coming for the dessert is all you need.

So we wanted to eat someplace unique in barstow and i noticed Roys cafe which looked exactly like the one in amboy so we stopped here and even tho the prices in California are crazy expensive we ate here. They had a good selection of food and they are famous for the burger's, wings and homemade ranch. I tried a double burger and wow it was delicious, very similar in taste as a In & Out burger but with a house sauce and way larger. The club sandwich was also delicious and it came with onion rings which were very good, crispy and lots of flavor. The buffalo wings are very good and crispy, so i tried the famous mango habanero wings which were recommended to me. They were not as spicy as the buffalo wings but tasted better overall, nice crisp and juicy taste. The waiter was very nice and the wait for food was only 12 mins, I definitely recommend stopping here on your rt.66 trip or if your in the area of barstow,ca.

Stopped in for brunch at Roy’s. Food was delicious, staff were lovely and it was clean and relaxing. Lovely experience. Highly recommend. Oh and the coffee, Australian coffee is very different but this cup of Joe was really nice. 👍 👍👍

Had the 1/3 lb cheeseburger and it was great. Fresh fries and great service. The owner happen to be there and came out greet the guests, which I really liked. He was asking if everything was good, food, service, and talking about the other many items on his menu. I've had the burger twice and it never disappoints.
