I loved my stay in the Carriage House in February—hosts were incredibly kind, responsive and accommodating. Great location just off the Main Street through this awesome town. One of several beautiful connected options, this one felt quiet, private, and well stocked/equipped with so much charm and coziness. The electric stove/fireplace kicked off wonderful heat in the mid-level living room. The dining room is a step or two sunk down from a really cute kitchen with a an updated vintage vibe. It was a perfect spot for me. The A frame bedroom on the top floor felt high up and safe, adding to the overall cozy factor. Three smallish levels create quite an overall spacious feel. The flight of stairs from the top floor are large wooden and barn-like and the one bathroom is on the main level, but this was never an issue, just something to keep in mind with young kids and the elderly. Thank you for the obvious care and thoughtfulness that went into creating these beautiful spaces in such a wonderful area for visitors to enjoy; see you all next time!

What makes this Airbnb truly special is the people behind it. Jess & Zac are some of the most incredible humans I know. I’ve been dear friends with them for years, and the beauty they bring to Nevada City is something we all cherish. Their love for this place is reflected in every single detail, making Moonrise on Mill not just a place to stay, but a place to experience.

If you’re visiting Nevada City, this is as close as it gets to everything you want to see and explore—while still giving you the peace and comfort of a private getaway. The perfect balance of luxury, location, and charm, Moonrise on Mill is an absolute must-stay. You’ll never want to leave!

If I could give the Moonrise On Mill St. Inn 10 stars, I would! This beautifully decorated inn truly feels like home away from home. I have stayed here twice now and plan to return many times over. It's the perfect location for exploring Nevada City, just a short block to downtown, and yet you still feel so tucked away and private. The magical Yuba River is only a quick 15 minute drive away. The inn itself has been so thoughtfully remodeled and decorated with the highest quality of fixtures and furnishings. It genuinely looks straight out of a design magazine, while still feeling so cozy and inviting. The owners are the sweetest family and were always available to answer any questions. They have thought of everything you could possibly need for a truly memorable stay. My time here has honestly made me consider moving to Nevada City, I love the experience so much. Can't wait to visit again!

Moonrise was a delight! We stayed with my son and family and had a great time. Nevada City was close, walkable and had great restaurants and shops. However, we had such a wonderful time just being together visiting, cooking, playing games...It was hard to leave Moonrise. Even the kids didn't want to leave! My grandson slipped in our bed one morning and remarked even the "sheets were cozy and comfortable" I think he nailed it!

THE PERFECT HOUSE! We got married at the miners foundry in Nevada city over the weekend and wanted a house convenient to the venue and town and big enough to allow our family of 6 to stay comfortably. Moonrise On Mill exceeded our expectations! The location is perfect and the design is so beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!

Moonrise was the perfect place for our wedding weekend! We rented both houses, each one charmingly decorated with thoughtful touches and all the comforts of home. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to numerous shops, restaurants, and even our wedding venue! Jess was an incredible host, truly the best we’ve ever had. My husband and I can’t wait to return!

We have just had the best two days in Nevada City. The location is picture postcard perfect.
The house is stunning and so well equipped. We enjoyed absolutely everything about it: so comfortable, stylish and with lots of gorgeous touches. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Jess and Zach were great hosts too, so quick to respond to messages and able to offer lots of advice on things to do.
The outdoor space was lovely to have breakfast in and we enjoyed eating dinner out there in the evening.
After a week of travelling around California, it was fantastic to have a washing machine and dryer all to ourselves. Ones in hotels can be difficult to access!
Finally, the house was spotlessly clean. Not a speck of dust anywhere (unlike the last hotel we had stayed in on the Russian River)!
We’d love to come back one day because it was such a highlight of our holiday.
