The location and grounds of this hotel were fantastic and well kept.it was great to take a leisurely stroll along the ocean and distance to attractions were close to the site and easily drivable. The rooms were very clean and well kept but small. Upgraded to the fast wifi but turned out not to be fast or reliable as the signal was still weak and often dropped altogether. Billing was a bit of an issue as charges were inaccurate to the package we bought and took a couple of times to get it corrected. High marks for the on site omelette station we enjoyed every morning.

I've planned a lot of small group meetings, and our board retreat at the Dana on Mission Bay was by far the smoothest, easiest experience I've had -- totally stress free. It's hard sometimes to get good service with a small group at a resort or large hotel. The Dana was a perfect size for our group, and everyone loved their rooms (we had junior suites that were park view or bay view). ||We made good use of the firepit tables at the Firefly and the hot tub since there was a cool breeze during the day and evenings were chilly in late-February. The fish tacos were a popular menu item at the Firefly. Happy hour drinks lacked strength and anything from the bar took a while to be served, but they said they were training new staff, so that might be improved with time. It was very minor in our overall experience.||The food and beverage service for our meeting was good overall. The staff and chef were very flexible to accomodate dietary restrictions with our small group. We ordered an afternoon break package that included brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and homemade potato chips and onion dip. I think our guests will be raving about the chips and dip for years to come!

Another great stay at The Dana - 5 nights this time and we also had a party in their event space. This go around we stayed in the conference room bay suite which was super spacious with a huge patio on the end of the bayside building. Our room was clean and very comfortable (they could use an upgrade on their pillows) and I loved that we could have some of our other family staying at the resort over socially. Every staff member we interfaced with was awesome, from the front desk, to folks around the property to the people working at Firefly. We did a pre get together at Firefly on Friday at the big area to the right of the restaurant with the fire pit tables. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding for the one gal taking care of around 12-16 of us. ||The event that I had been planning here for about a year was amazing. Christina Gold is gold standard for partnering with and she made sure that everything went off beautifully. The staff we had for the event were amazing and took great care of us. All of my guests had a great time, were super complimentary of the event food, cocktails (GREAT bartender) and attentiveness.

This place is all about the location. Great bay views and the pool is great. On-site bar makes great drinks. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Con’s: bar on site closes at 8:45 even on weekends. We have hosted big events here the last two years for a school event and the food is just bad! I’m not sure if they hire an outside catering company or what but it’s bad. Rooms are nothing special.

I wanted to give this place a better review as it is a nice hotel but some things were just off. The service of the gift shop and restaurant was amazing, but the people at the front desk were very rude and off-putting and just seemed unhappy to be there. The food was great but we had requested an outdoor table and were sat without anyone checking our reservation, meanwhile the reserved table outside sat empty all night. The rooms were nice and clean, but bayview was a stretch given the large trees in front of our room. A decent place but for the price and the way it is advertised, I was expecting more.

My wife and I booked our Holiday Family Vacation for Christmas in San Diego at the Dana! We had an amazing time and experience! The hotel has a full blown resort feel! They have a restaurant on site and the food and service was amazing! Our little enjoyed the pool and all of the amenities! The staff was super kind and extremely accommodating to her! (10 years old) The location is in the heart of everything and was super convenient! The grounds are beautiful! We had an absolutely amazing time! If you are looking at a great place to stay that is super close and convenient with a fantastic staff, The Dana on Mission Bay is it!! We will stay here for certain on all of our trips to San Diego! Great way to spend our Christmas Holiday! I must add, we didn’t travel with our fur baby but they are super accommodating to everyone who was!!

Made our reservation on 2/2/25. Was told the rate was 249 per night. We requested a king size bed for my wife and I. Upon checking into our room, we had two queen size beds. Just the way I wanted to spend our anniversary. ||Upon receiving our bill, I noticed the rates were much different from those that were quoted to us per the suggestion of the reservationist. $249.00 first night, $343 the second nite, $351 the third night and $423.00 the fourth night.||The hotel was relatively clean so i can not complain about that but it certainly did not look anything like the pictures.||The restaurant has a very limited restaurant and no spa. It was more like a motel than a hotel. ||When I confronted the manager with the issues, she was neither helpful or polite. ||My overall rating on this hotel is to pick ANY OTHER!. We just didnt enjoy ourselves.

We’ve stayed at The Dana every year for Spring Break. This will be our last stay. Feels like we are parting with an old friend. Bittersweet but we have to say goodbye. We are here now and our room smells so putrid we can hardly stand it. Housekeeping came and sprinkled some rug carpet but it didn’t mask the smell for long. The carpet was wet when we checked into our room so not sure where the smell is coming from but it is bad. We searched high and low thinking we might find an old shoe or a piece of rotting meat. The bedding and towels smell like a sweaty old man. Nothing against sweaty old men, but I came here to get away from that! Two more nights and I’m not sure we will be able to endure the smell. Might have to buy a nose plug to survive!
