Food was fire good staff kinda strange girl seemed kinda rude and dude I think tried scamming me after I asked for a pan de queso thinking it was a pan de bono which they only sell on sat he sells me a pan de queso which turns out extremely good and addicting soo delicious only $7but I would of liked it if he would of told me before charging me but I guess that would of been the only way to try that since I would of never bought that huge bread. It’s was very good and all the food is freshly made

Homey, authentic Colombian spot in Hawthorne. Came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner and got seated immediately. Indoor dining only. Credit cards accepted. They spoke in Spanish but there also pictures on the menu for non-Spanish speakers. The atmosphere felt as though you were invited into someone’s home to eat.

We split a bandeja paisa which provided a little sampling of everything (blood sausage, asada, and chorizo) plus rice, beans, avocado, and plantains. The portion sizes are very generous and even with two people, we didn’t finish everything. It was nice to be able to enjoy a leisurely meal in a family-owned setting.

Wonderful Columbian deli that I had never tried with almost a decade in the area. Had one of the family specials with corn soup (sopa de maíz) and mashed potatoes (puré de papas), rice (arroz) and a chicken leg (pollo guisado), all 👌

Also tried the bandeja paisa which is a little bit of everything on one page: steak, chorizo, chicharrón, yucca, plantain, rice, all excellent

Really great service! Carlos took the time to explain what each dish was and what the drinks were. The food came out pretty quick considering we were a large group, and everything was hot and full of flavor! I had the lomo and tried a beef empanada. Will be coming back to try more!

Before reading this know that my family is from Colombia so we know what everything is tradditionally supposed to taste like.

The presentation of food was sloppy, and literally all of the food was sub-par or straight up bad. Not to mention the fact that it was overpriced for what was given.
The steak given in the pandeja paisa was as chewy and tough as a boot, the beans had random bones floating around in it, the avocado had white flesh, tasted like nothing, and was already brown as if it sat there for hours.
And the piece I was looking most forward to, the chicharron, didn't even have skin on it. it was like eating balls of greasy unseasoned fat.
Though this wasn't the worst part of it, the arepa, was as hard as a rock, and tasted sour as if it was rotting.

I went on a special occasion with my grandparents and we all regret it. I can't speak for them but from what I heard, their food was complete trash too.

90$ wasted on 3 plates of poorly made, spoiled, cheap garbage. if i could I would give -1 stars.

(Just finding this out but my grandfather got into a heated argument with the staff and was called an idiot for saying he didn't like the empanadas or chicharron)

I came here looking for chocolate and ended up meeting an incredibly hospitable family running an authentic Colombian cafe. I sat down for brunch and was given samples first from Chef Carlos.

It felt like visiting family. I can not recommend this place enough. This is one of those special spots.

Edit: went back again for the Caldo De Costilla! Pic added
