The Wave Hotel – Great Value in Manhattan Beach

If you’re looking for an affordable and comfortable stay in Manhattan Beach, The Wave Hotel is a solid choice. It’s nothing fancy, but the rooms are spacious, the showers are great, and it offers excellent value for money. While it’s not right by the beach, it’s just a short drive away, making it easy to enjoy the ocean, a nice dinner, and a scenic stroll.
One area for improvement would be the breakfast selection—adding some fresh fruit and yogurt would be a great touch. That said, the private parking is a huge bonus (and free!), and we were really happy with our stay. Would definitely recommend!

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL! They have bed bugs and mold and rust. The water smelled horribly of sulfur so you feel like you are showering in egg water! The mattresses are hard and have metal frames like you are in a prison. They say they can sleep five people with a two queen beds room, and there is not five places to sleep with two Queen beds! They had two towels and no wash cloths or hand towels when we entered the room for a reservation for a family of five. They had no tissue for your nose. One partially used roll of toilet paper with no extra toilet paper in the room, we had to ask for an extra roll each day. When we asked for more towels, they said they had to wash more first. They have one microwave outside on a table. They did not have a do not disturb sign to put on your door. The only good thing was the juice at breakfast and free parking and that it is a five minute ride to the beach from there! The bed bugs, mold, and sulfur water and that they said the room would accommodate five when it could only accommodate four were all the worst parts! Do not choose this hotel!

I had a great stay here! Weekday rate was under 100 with taxes with a clean room and friendly staff. Free ample parking was also available in a safe underground lot. My only single knock is the mattress was a bit aged and I could feel the springs every time I moved. But other that that the premise was very clean, the room was clean, and very spacious with a desk area to work on my laptop and a quiet building

No towels. At check in there was 1 dirty wash cloth hanging with hair on it. Had 2 towels (mismatched..one from a car wash and the other a small bath) both looked dirty. We asked for 2 towels the next day and we're told the maid forgot to start the laundry the night before and there were no clean towels. Other than that ice machine is broke. Place appears nicer in pictures than it is in person. Would not come again.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! I gave my $100 deposit with a hundred dollar bill. This morning when checking out the rude guy at the front desk accused me of smoking in the room and refused to give me my deposit back. I had him call the owner who told him to have a staff member check it out. The women verified that it didn’t smell like smoke. He wasn’t happy with that response so he started recruiting other staff. The next person said the same thing, no smell or sign of smoking. They went straight to the heater which had a bad smell. They pulled the filter out and it was disgusting. He kept saying a few more minutes. When we finally got to the front desk he acted like he couldn’t find my money. When the owner came she miraculously found it in the envelope he kept picking up and acting like it wasn’t there. I can handle a very uncomfortable bed. The breakfast was much more underwhelming thank advertised. Whatever. To try and steal money and be very rude. Not cool. Writing positive reviews is something I pride myself off on, so to have such a horrible experience is sad. Don’t allow yourself to be put in the same situation.

You are charged for a deposit that they very clearly say will be refunded 3-7 business days but they will then play games about refunding
10 business days after checking out and I still don’t have a refund. Hotel is quick to get the money but couldn’t care less about returning funds. I had to prove they took the deposit from my account and then follow up they received my proof only to be told that the manager will get back to me in 2 days. I’d never recommend anyone stay here.
Rooms are thin walls, bed springs are sticking up through mattress and towels in room were dirty.
Also none of the outlets in the bathroom worked

We got this cause it was 14 to 20 mins to LAX for our friends to fly back to Tampa. The young lady at the desk was very helpful and courteous. Rooms were spacious. The bed didn't agree with my back too much. The shower appeared to need a good scrubbing.

Very bad!! My sister and I stayed here for 6 days. I put do not disturb outside, and they cleaned my room the next day. They also get all the towels. When we have two people, and they give us one towel? We asked for towels multiple times. On the day we left, they spent an hour giving us the deposit back in cash, but the manager and staff didn’t know what to do! I was very disappointed, and I will never come back here!
