This detailed assessment aims to provide prospective visitors with a comprehensive understanding of what the Nisei Inn has to offer, based on publicly available information, primarily Google My Business reviews.

Location and Accessibility

The Nisei Inn’s strategic location in Gardena, Southern California, offers several advantages. Situated at 16427 S Western Ave, it’s positioned within a relatively accessible area, providing ease of navigation for travelers arriving by car. Gardena itself is a suburb of Los Angeles, placing it within a reasonable driving distance of many popular attractions, including beaches, entertainment venues, and cultural landmarks. Specialties and Services – A Hotel Focus

The central specialty of the Nisei Inn is, fundamentally, its role as a hotel. Based on reviews, the hotel generally focuses on providing essential services and accommodations. Here’s a breakdown of what visitors can typically expect:

  • Accommodation: The hotel offers various room types, catering to solo travelers, couples, and small families.

Google My Business Reviews and Reputation

The Nisei Inn currently holds 344 reviews on Google My Business, providing a substantial body of feedback from previous guests. The average opinion is a 3 out of 5 stars. This suggests a generally acceptable level of satisfaction, with areas for improvement highlighted by some reviewers. A significant portion of the reviews commend the hotel's cleanliness and value for money. However, recurring themes in the negative reviews often relate to the hotel’s age, dated decor, and occasional maintenance issues. Some guests have also expressed concerns regarding noise levels and the responsiveness of the management to reported problems. It's crucial for prospective guests to carefully consider these reviews when making their decision.

Key Considerations for Prospective Guests

Before booking a stay at the Nisei Inn, it’s advisable for potential guests to consider the following:

  • Budget: The Nisei Inn typically offers competitive rates, making it a potentially affordable option for travelers.
  • Expectations: It’s important to have realistic expectations regarding the hotel’s facilities and services. It’s a budget-friendly option and may not offer the same level of luxury as more upscale establishments.
  • Read Recent Reviews: Given the volume of reviews on Google My Business, it’s strongly recommended to read the most recent reviews to get an up-to-date perspective on the hotel’s current condition and service quality.
  • Contact Directly: Since the hotel’s website is limited, contacting the hotel directly by phone to inquire about specific needs or concerns is a wise approach.

In conclusion, the Nisei Inn presents a viable, albeit modestly equipped, accommodation choice for travelers visiting the Gardena area. Its convenient location, competitive pricing, and substantial number of reviews offer valuable insights for potential guests. By carefully weighing the pros and cons and researching recent feedback, individuals can determine whether the Nisei Inn aligns with their travel needs and preferences.

04/20/24 I was recommended to this hotel. Due to being “budget friendly”, let’s start off with that. They lie when you call before you even get there. They never mentioned the add on charges out of no where. also I asked how much for two nights and they went up their price instead of 85 for each night. Anyways it is not worth 100 bucks for the night, due to having the room very damaged, bed covers and sheets ripped, hole in the walls, broken mirror, some sort of mole in the bathroom ceiling, no microwave, to much rusty metal from the clothing hanger and in the bathroom. It had to much flaws for the price of what they charge. They need to remodel their rooms and furniture. I’ve had better experience and paid less than what they charged for.
Sad to say I won’t be coming back here again. I felt lied to from the beginning, I drove there thinking I was paying a good price until all these unnecessary charges were given to me and I couldn’t do anything since I already made the drive and felt like they wasted my time and I could’ve looked somewhere else instead of getting there. Overall, please be aware of this place. 0/10 experience and not coming again even if I’m in the area. Thanks for being liars and be more honest with your customers!

I chose this place because it was close to where I needed to be for work, and I mistook it for another place.

I was surprised when I booked it because the price was less than $100 per night. But, as you can see from the pics, it’s just a room. The only thing I can say is that my room, at least, didn’t smell like cigarettes like hotels usually do when they’re this cheap. And the bathroom wasn’t filthy. But the carousel was kind of gross and sticky. Also, I’m only 5’7” and the shower head was installed too low for me. Definitely won’t be staying there again.

The place does indeed have roaches, our stay was for 4 days, honestly if you book this place knowing that it isn't a 5 star hotel, the expectations shouldn't be high.
It's cheap and it's a place to stay.
To combat the roaches, we put the AC on the lowest setting every day, all day, constantly, roaches hate the cold. We also had a homemade spray of vinegar and mint. We sprayed this around our beds, restroom, door, etc. During our 4 days of stay we saw maybe 5 roaches? 3 of them were because we hadn't yet put the AC on cold. Another was in the restroom because the door wasn't open, meaning it wasn't cold in the restroom.
Honestly, if you're alone, or with someone else that doesn't over react due to a little bug this place is fine. It's cheap and that's exactly what you get.
The microwave in the lobby had roaches on it so plan ahead.
Also the area is super sketchy at night, I do not recommend going out if you are a woman, we saw two homeless druggies swinging sticks, just stay inside.

This hotel was a little gem. Yes it’s older with older furniture and some of it worn, but everything worked and it was clean. We stayed 4 nights and it was very quite despite being off a busy street. There is an internal courtyard that was beautiful. The room was cleaned and replenished everyday and the staff were all very polite.

Positive: Maybe just price, but not a lot to like except proximity to my location Negative: Cigarettes smell, dirty carpet, old furnishings and beddings, did not feel like effort was made to get new beddings, felt like really old, disgusting bathroom site with old shower head and water closet and bath. Needs remodeling Negative: ""

Outside looks nice and clean but once you drive in it's a construction area and leaking pipes from the garage up. Open the door to the room and you are hit with dirty floors chiped and bathroom that Is visibly crumbling and dirty. Toilet wobbly. Bathtub stains all over and years of paint flaking off... furniture had masking tape holding it together. Mattress was so old and worn that my wife almost fell out on the edge. Refrigerator door was banged up but in working order. Three of the wall plugs were bare and one was falling out and the plates off.. electrical hazard for certain.. carpet was covered in stains and dirty and at the entrance was braiding and carpet strip was almost over the linoleum by the door and not covering the actual carpet. The walls had wallpaper that was peeling off and hand prints and stains. The curtšq11ains were dirty and parts off the hook. Overall I should have stayed elsewhere. Here was no coffee maker or microwave. The TV was very small and dirty.. š+I paid 80 and was not worth 20 even
