This is a lovely hotel, convenient to the freeway, and easy to book. The staff gets the job done and the breakfast is above and beyond expectation. However, who in the world would choose to put a barn door on the bathroom? There is absolutely no sound barrier between the toilet and those in the bed area. Privacy when using the bathroom is a reasonable expectation and cannot be met in these circumstances. The person responsible for this absurd design feature made a very poor choice. We paid over $200 to be in our room for less than 10 hours and had to trade off being in the room and using the restroom because it was so uncomfortable to use the facilities while the other person was in the room. Disappointing.

The employees are very friendly, easy going, and welcoming. Great breakfast with lots of choices, including fresh fruits and scrambled or hard boiled eggs. Air conditioning works great, room stayed very cool despite it being 100deg outside. Would definitely stay here again!

You can’t go wrong with Hampton Inn.
Wonderfully nice and clean. Modern decor and spacious rooms. Breakfast was ok but better than most other hotels. One bonus that I’ve discovered that’s lacking at other hotels…the bathroom fan was quiet!! THANK YOU!!!

After staying at an atrocious hotel in Ventura I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful hotel I found when I stayed here. From the moment I walked in the customer service at 11:00 p.m. was the kindest I have ever experienced. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The rooms were spic and span clean. The breakfast was wonderful everything was clean. I just cannot say how happy I was with my stay there. After a very long day at Magic Mountain it was a wonderful break in our trip back to Northern California

Be careful!!!! Unsafe!||||Hotel shower is covered with soap scum! So slippery I fell out of the shower onto the tile floor causing me to break my arm! Hotel management is ignoring it and me! Why not do the right thing and not force me to file a lawsuit?!

Nice little hotel at the base of The Vine (north side). Good location on the east side of the freeway. Checked it at ~3:30am, their check out is noon. There is the basic continental breakfast, rooms are quiet, and the shades have great blackout effect. Highly recommend for travelers on the 5 / 99...

My family and I stayed here over the weekend, and I am so happy that we chose this location for our trip. We were originally going to stay in Bakersfield, but the sheer number of hotels with recent reports of creepy crawlies was alarming. So, my husband and I elected to stay about 30 min south and deal with the extra driving for our weekend. It was a great decision!

Pros:
- convenient location for anyone driving up the 5/99, as it’s right before/after the grapevine.
- the hotel is pretty new, and everything is in great condition
- no creepy crawlies!
- rooms and common areas are kept very clean
- local places to eat, either short walk or very short drive
- indoor pool and amenities
- free breakfast (pretty typical hotel continental breakfast)
- hotel wasn’t fully booked, so we didn’t feel cramped while in the lobby or elevators
- friendly and helpful staff

My 3 year old was going nuts on Sat evening, so I went down to talk to the front desk to make sure he wasn’t disturbing anyone downstairs. She was so nice about it and let me know that the room was empty and likely would stay that way for the night. Rather than making a fuss about a noisy child, the staff was extremely pleasant and helped me make sure that no other guests were disturbed. I was very appreciative of their understanding and assistance!

Cons:
- more of a drive to get places (we didn’t mind)
- the bedroom carpets are due for a cleaning
- beds are very firm and a bit creaky

This will definitely be added to my short list of go-to hotels while driving for work trips! Thanks for a great stay.
