Hospitality at its finest! Our SUV broke down on the mountain and although the motel was technically closed, Chris and Stacy had a room made up for us, made sure we had meals and were comfortable, and then gave us a ride back up the mountain a couple days later to our car after an attempted repair. Food at the restaurant was great, lodging was pet friendly since we had our dog along, and “family” night when the little town came together for a meal was so inviting! The car breakdown ended up being one of our highlights after meeting so many nice people!

It's not a resort. The name must have been made when the owners where drunk. So lets start again. Resort NO, Fancy NO. But for being in the middle of nowhere. It was nice for a nights stay. The staff at the restaurant where the best. Some of the nicest people I have met in a long time. The restaurant is not like eating in Beverly Hills. But they take pride in what they cook. The morning cook thru out my eggs because he did not like them. Apologized for it taking to long and told me he had to do it twice. The dinner lady (heavier girl) told use she makes all the pies. And yes they are good. There are deer that hangout in the back yard. And the local that came when we where there where very friendly. We where in room # 1. Very clean and nice.I will defiantly stop there again.||||The only bad thing! No phone service. Not there fault. Bad internet with a password. Yes there fault! Why would there be a password on the internet in the middle of nowhere? So every time u get knocked off your messing with the password they give you. Really? Smarten up owner! And internet only works in restaurant. When it works. No internet in rooms.

We spent one night here - only because it was late and we literally could not find anything else. The area is very remote and accommodations are very limited. I have to say that I wish we'd driven on even if it was late. The room was neither clean nor secure. There are two doors and neither had any kind of lock except the one in the knob. Both were very flimsy and the back door could be pushed in even while "locked". I don't think I have enough time to detail all the things wrong. The beds had one sheet and a comforter. The one sheet on each bed was sized for a larger bed so neither would stay in place. I don't know which was worse - having to sleep under the extremely questionable comforter (it was a cold night) or having the sheet slip and realizing you were on the filthy mattress. The bathroom had a big spot that showed where some leak had supposedly been repaired but that was just unsightly. The shower, however, had mold everywhere. The porch that ran the length of the building had rotted planks and one end was completely inaccessible due to vines and weeds that had grown up and over the whole area. There was an very unpleasant odor everywhere - rotten food, old cooking grease? Litter all over the parking area - which was also covered with potholes. We asked about an ice machine and were handed a large black plastic garbage bag with ice. I could go on and on. Just please take my word for it - don't stay here. I can't comment about the food from the restaurant - no way was I going to eat anything from that place.

The other reviewers have covered this place's charms well enough but if you want to take the family somewhere or want to have some quality time with your spouse/partner do NOT stay in the hotel. The walls are paper thin, you will not have any privacy, and you will hear every snore, fart, and grunt from your neighbors. No joke. Me and the wife had a room booked for the whole weekend and left after only one night; the family in the room next to us did the same. Also, there is NOTHING to do within walking distance, even go hiking. The bar and the restaurant deserve more stars but this place is collectively over-billing itself by claiming to be a 'resort'.

We needed a place to stay inside Sequoia National Forest as home base for our travels during the US government shutdown. The folks at the lodge were friendly and helpful from the moment they answered my first (of several) calls. Heather was very helpful with Park info and held our room until we arrived in the wee hours (as our plans had changed to the National Park closures. A nice guy, Rob, (who I later found out doubles as bartender) wrote directions to all of the local sights that we're were interested in. He could be a tour guide. In the morning, we learned of some excitement in the area - a mountain lion had been seen down from the mountain in the residential area - yeehaw! The locals were all abuzz - this added to our trip - especially when we were wandering around in the middle of the night in the stand of Redwoods and Sequoias on the Trail of 100 Giants. Anyway, the hotel served us well. Small room, comfy bed, clean bathroom. And breakfast and local news and gossip in the morning at the restaurant. One important note: fill up with gas before you go up into the mountains. You'll new it and there aren't any gas stations. Totally worth the trip.

Updated 6/2018 under the new manager. With the exception of the gentleman server, the staff is incredibly rude, and service is slow. Prices are outrageous!!! $2.50 for a can of soda, and $7 for a hot dog that comes with stale tortilla chips. Next time we will know better, and drive 15 more minutes down the road. Very silly to call this place a resort.

Pierpoint Springs Resort is a motel, restaurant, bar, market, gift shop, and post office.||||There are 6 motel rooms built in 1962. They have been refurbished over the years and have new carpet, chest of drawers, table, one chair, real wood headboards, are fairly new and in excellent condition. I thought the mattress was a bit soft but I didn’t sink into it and I slept just fine. Knotty pine on the wall is original. There is a nightstand and 2 lamps in the room but there needs to be one in the ceiling. ||||The room might seem a bit smallish. The beds are full size, not queen or king size. And there is not enough counter space in the bathroom for a wife and 2 girls’ “stuff”. The bathroom has been recently remodeled with new everything.||||The TV is old but it had Direct TV although it didn’t work in my room. There is a coffee maker in the room but it has not been cleaned too well and no stir sticks.||||The room has a heater but no air conditioning. In the summer at this high elevation the air cools down at night and that works out OK.||||This place is really deep in the forest; no phone in the room, no cell phone signal, and the pay phone outside is dead. The employees let us use their phone to call home.||||I would definitely return for a decent quiet place to stay while exploring the Sequoia National Forest.||||My only complaint was inadequate lighting in the room. One fixture was missing a bulb and the other bulb was the new fandangled fluorescent curlicue bulb that has bare minimum lighting. I would have liked to been able read a book or magazine in the room. Also, there are no chairs outside which would be nice. ||||This place has a Springville address but it’s really adjacent to Camp Nelson.

The local greasy spoon for your trip up the sierras. The food is super well priced. The waitresses are friendly. They have guides to local spots, a gift/one stop shop. And a bar and motel for those who stay near. The souvenirs are a bit pricey. But you cant go wrong with the food for the price.
