Staff are hard working and do well with what they have. I have been staying at this hotel on and off for a few months while working in Bakersfield. The rooms may be a little dated, but updates are underway, and the rooms are clean. A lot of the rooms have a balcony overlooking the pool area. There are lots of trees and bushes that make the area very relaxing. It's more like a resort atmosphere than a hotel. There is a restaurant and bar attached, and the food has been great. They have a breakfast buffet included in the price of the room and offer any meal on the dinner menu for $7 plus tax if you are staying at the hotel. Hotel staff have been very good to deal with. Overall, it has been an OK experience at a good daily rate! Good habit at some hotels. Make sure you get a copy of what they are charging to your credit card and follow up at check out.

Worst hotel and service ever! Do not stay here they won’t even take a service dog with proper paperwork. It’s completely illegal even the police told us to sue them. I highly recommend not staying there. Please find somewhere better anywhere even Motel 6 is better than this place. The service is terrible when the cops say you go somewhere else and sue them you know that you’re at the wrong place. Rudest worker ever Clarion should be embarrassed…

Worst Hotel ever seen in my life. Almost everything was pathetic. Beds were stinking, restrooms were so dirty with tiles broken. Bugs can easily be seen on the carpets. Moreover the staff was so rude that I checked out from the hotel just after my first day visit and have to go to a nearby hotel. 0/10

I’ve had a terrible experience at this hotel!!! The rooms have an awful smell, and the carpets are filthy and disgusting. The jacuzzi is always out of order or barely working, and when it does, it reeks of bleach, making it unbearable to use. There’s also a gas leak smell that’s incredibly concerning, and the laundry facilities are always out of order? I had to stay here due to me being stuck in bakersfield for work but I'm never coming back here in the future.
I was promised a refund by the general manager—an indian lady with glasses—but I never received it. Overall, this place is poorly managed, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone.

I have stayed here several times now for multiple days.
First let me start with, the beds are nearly the most comfortable I have found on the road.
Second, The pool is Huge and comfirtable to swim in for the warmer months of the year. It is surrounded by an oasis of beautiful flora. It has a hot tob adjacent to the pool as well that is usable year round!
Third, The rooms are large and well appointed. Most rooms have a patio or balcony leading into the internal oasis and directly to the pool area!
The parking is secured by a gate keeping your vehicles safe .

Well worth the stay and the price is quite affordable

I only gave 3 stars for the service due to 1 person- Rosa! And she's actually at the Clarion,who I guess share the lot with Duniya. This hotel maybe better but due to their close proximity and affiliation, I grouped them together. The manager at Clarion,had the nerve to tell me that when I booked through Priceline that it put me in a disabled person's room. Which of course is BS! If it was a disabled person's room,why wasn't there a safety bar for the tub or toilet? I'm sure a bed sheet or comforter should be standard for any person's bed and not just a sheet. There was a blanket -rolled up on a shelf in the bathroom closet,very much like jail issue style. Don't disabled person's deserve or should they expect less than standard rooms; like a door with a lock,enough privacy where people just don't open the door while saying housekeeping 3 hours before checkout time,not only once but 7 TIMES !!! Maybe Duniya doesn't deserve the brute honesty of my review,but if the place is under the same management as CLARION HOTEL - BEWARE AND RUN TO THE HILLS-its more safe and private!

This is a lovely hotel with classic charm. I love the courtyard with the welcome pool the mature landscaping. It's so beautiful. I love the open hallways with palm trees in the stairways.
This place has clearly lasted and does show its age with occasional replaced floor tiles. But it's clean and the room was up to date and the beds were comfortable.

It is in a less desirable part of town but the parking lot is fenced and gated. Staff were frendly and efficient.
If I ever pass this way again, I will get a poolside room so I can enjoy the courtyard even more.

I stay in hotels all over US. I set up travel groups. At this hotel the staff is handcuffed. They are unable to do much for you because ownership is terrible. I spoke with 3 staff members and will keep names confidential.

I don’t trust that cleaning is done regularly because clearly ownership is not interested in client just the income. This is based on following information.
Hotel:
I mentioned to staff that the TV guide does not coincide with tv channels. Guide says History and ESPN is on 54 and 109. They are not. Staff said all TV’s in rooms are different and no way to figure it out; the bartender in so called sports bar spent 45 min looking for an NFL game.
It is not a sports bar it is a karaoke bar.
-7 nights a week karaoke and during the game.
-They open at noon games start at 10
It is easy to see that hotel staff is frustrated that they can’t help you.
There was an all night party at the pool and I was unable to sleep. Staff alerted me that owners change the hours of pool opening/closing if a tour group is coming; they want the money from the group and disregard the tranquility of all other guests.
I could give a longer post of examples but overall this hotel is neglected by ownership. No improvements since the 70’s. There is also security breeches due to lack of maintenance.
I will not be bringing golf tours to this hotel unless ownership changes. There is zero pride of ownership here.
I would not pay $50 a night to stay here. In fact I wouldn’t pay anything to stay here and if I was staff and serious about my work I would go to another hotel besides a choice hotel. Choice is showing a pattern of adding any hotel to their list.
